  • Glad you are feeling a little better TIE.

Had a frustrating start to the day. Needed to go to post office to send a parcel, while I was unhappy about the office closures, the benefit of having longer opening times where they are based in local shops is great for those working full time. The one I usually go is supposed to open at 7, but hasn’t done so since the start of the pandemic, so I decided to go to another one as it is close to the sorting office, which I also needed to go to as by pure fluke, I found a junk email advising they had tried to deliver a package, didn’t bother letting me know when they tried to deliver. Anyway, checked the opening time of the post office, 7:30, so decided to get there for opening time, needless to say, they weren’t open, so walked up to the sorting office, not open until 8. Drove to my usual office, still closed, so back to the original off, joy of joys open, except stroppy cow told me she wouldn’t take it until 9! Why promote the service if not offered? Made worse by it being perfectly acceptable to sell alcohol at 7:45. At least when I went to the sorting office, the guy in there was very helpful and accepted my email as proof of attempted delivery.

Walking back to the car, gazed longingly at the croissants in the bakery window, but kept walking😀 Got my reward as when I drove round to my usual office again, it was open so I eventually achieved what I had left home for. Spent 3 hours ironing on top of the 2 hours I did last night sorting out a load of stuff that my boss gave me for the local refugee place, so will drop the 6 big ikea bags off after the Ireland Wales match. Need to start my own washing now😂
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Lucky escape at DD1's!  Her partner couldn't be bothered to make profiteroles so he made shortbread and quiche both of which I skipped!  DH has bought home a few slices of quiche and no shortbread!

Hope you are feeling better soon TIE so that your DH can start sleeping in the bed rather than a recliner, which I'm sure can't be very comfortable.

What a pain GTQ - seems ridiculous saying they're open at 7.30 when they won't accept anything until 9am!  Having said that our PO is in the local pharmacy and they're open from 8am to 7pm but the PO is only open from 9am - 5.30pm which a half day on Wednesday (how old fashioned is that!); but at least I know that's the times it's open.

Well done on just passing the bakery and the croissants.  Can't believe how much ironing you've been doing!  I only get my iron and board out when I'm dressmaking and I haven't done any of that for quite a long time.

    Hiya
I studied with the Open University.
The degree is offered to you and you need to accept it, it’s not just awarded. I also had to choose whether I wanted a BA or BSc (I have a BA already so I accepted the BSc) Brick unis I know don’t do this- when I got my MA it was just awarded (that was a brick uni) but the OU works a little differently. Sorry, should have made that clear!
I’ve been very naughty this week... oops.
Ive managed to stay on plan today.

B: HEXB Lizi’s LS granola, blueberries, FF natural Greek yoghurt
L: Mackerel, rice (2) veg. Skinny bar (3)
D- SW style pan haggerty (traditional North Eastern dish. Spuds, ham, cabbage and garlic)
    S: Crisps (3.5)
    Syns: 8.5

    Lots of love xx

Late check in for me.  Don’t stress @beanielou .   Busy last few days but hope you’re all well but
will read back to catch up.

I put 1lb on this morning when I weighed in. Not too fussed as this seems to be the pattern now; good loss one week, gain another, loss following week.  I’ve still lost overall and jeans are loose so going with that.

Morning all.  @Jellybaby it's funny how patterns occur when we losing weight.  In my original group the consultant often mentioned that star week often seemed to be the week people would gain - even when they had gone through the menopause! Didn't happen to me - my gains were usually because I'd overindulged in wine at the weekend, LOL!  Something I don't tend to do these days and one of the reasons I drink spirits more often than wine (particularly now the syns have gone up so much this year!).

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
L - new recipe - mushroom doner - HEB; S; F; 1 (recipe at end if you want to have a look)
D - roast pork, roast potatoes, roasted veg, cabbage, green beans, peas; yorkie - P; S; F; 2

    HEA - milk
    HEB - pitta
    Syns - sausages 2; harissa paste 1; yorkie 2; 2 rum & ginger beer 5

new recipe for lunch today:   https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/mushroom_doner_22676

Have a good day everyone even though the weather is horrible!
