Well done @Suffolksue. Definitely save your syns for wine group! It's what a lot of us target members do - save syns to have at the weekend. It's definitely what I used to do but not at the moment as I'm out of target but as soon as I'm back I'm sure it will be extra syns at weekends!

T thanks all ,yes I am going to save most of my syns for Thursday and try and avoid the nibbles and choose wisely at the buffet lunch .!0

Morning all, another bright day and no wind today! Glad we didn't have it as bad as in the North - sounds like it was horrendous up there. Another load of washing done and on the line. Hopefully it will dry.
Glad you've decided to save your syns for Thursday @Suffolksue. Could you take something with you that's SW friendly for the buffet lunch? Maybe some crustless quiche, ham slices or crab sticks.
Today's plan:
B - fry up - sausages, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans - P; S; F; 2
L - low fat burger, onions, sliced gherkins in wholemeal bun - HEB; S; F; 0.5
D - roast duck, roasted potatoes and veg, swede, green beans and peas - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - wholemeal bun
Syns - sausages 2; burger 0.5
Have a good day everyone.

Hope all is OK with you @beanielou. The weather sounds wild in the north.
Perhaps you could eat something before you go to your wine group @Suffolksue. That way you'll know you can't possibly be hungry which might make you eat less of the nibbles/buffet.
I've never cooked a duck @joedenise but I should try as it's one of DH's favourites, something he can be guaranteed to order if it's on a restaurant menu. I'm assuming you don't eat the skin but do you cook it on a trivet to drain any of the fat? Do you make a sauce/gravy?
I portioned up the Bolognese for the freezer. That's 4 more meals sorted. We really enjoyed the sweet and sour last night, not had it for ages. I always throw my meal plan away at the end of the week but maybe I should start keeping a record to look back on as we seem to be in a bit of a rut. We enjoy our meals but they do seem a bit repetitive. Our consultant was asking for ideas of member's original SW friendly recipes for some competition. I think they have to be syn free but you can use a HEX. Most of my recipes are adapted, so not original, but it'll be interesting to see what people come up with.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, 2 fried eggs (P). tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- sardine salad (P,S), lentil and veg soup (P,S)
D- JO roast pork (P), SW new potatoes (F), many vegetables (S)
Syns- gravy 4, weekend wine😁0 -
@maman - this is the first time we've cooked a whole duck! We tend to just cook breast usually (or confit duck if we buy it in France!). DH is going to cook it on the rotisserie on the gas BBQ - I've stabbed the skin all over so the fat comes out and will collect in a foil tray at the bottom.
I'll still roast the potatoes and veg as usual in the oven and cook the other veg on the hob. As you know I don't have gravy so I'll just make up a chicken gravy with granules for DH.
Fortunately the skin is of no interest to me! The only skin I like is pork when it's crackled properly!
Sounds like Free Food February - which they've done every year for at least the last 5 years! Surely any recipe which you adapt to make SW friendly is an original!

Pleased at weigh in yesterday with 4 off so got the half stone sticky 😀 obviously wasn’t showing last week and so glad I stuck with it!My fridge freezer isn’t working properly so this week’s meals will mostly be from the freezer to use up as much as Possible before it needs to be switched off for the repair man. I thought it was only three years old turns out it’s seven. How time flies!I’ll have to read back and catch up but hope everyone is well and surviving this awful weather.0

Maybe I haven't been to WI in February for at least 5 years! 🤣
I'll be interested to know how the duck works out @joedenise. It's so long since we went to France that all the confit has gone. ☹️ It was getting expensive but worth it as over here it's even dearer I think. 🤔0 -
Will do @maman. I've got one lot of confit frozen so thinking I might fit it into February meal plan. Good idea to save your meal plans. I actually do mine as a table on the laptop so I've got loads saved and every so often I look through them to see what we haven't had for a while. Going on this month's plan will be goat curry as I got some when I went to see my sister earlier this month.
Well done @Jellybaby, that's a massive loss 👏👏👏.

I checked online @joedenise and on Amazon a tin of confit (4/5 pieces) is £22.50! In French supermarkets it's around 10 euros a tin! Incredible difference. ☹️0
