At least you can see the humour in it Bubbs. He will be much happier when he is home.

Morning all. Happy belated birthday @joedenise hope you have a safe journey back.
Fingers crossed your dad gets to come home today @bubbs, I'm sure he's just frustrated at being stuck in hospital and with all the very rapid changes that are happening to him.
Hope you and hubby are feeling better soon @Coxy11 Turns out most of the people at the funeral we went to on Monday have now tested positive and I was in the office yesterday with someone who was coughing a bit, and when I asked if they were ok, he said "oh I had Covid a few days ago, think I'm ok now" 🙄 So guessing it's just a matter of time before I pick it up again.
Have a couple of big presentations to do today with work so can't seem to face the idea of food because I'm too nervous. Going to force myself to have some toast in a bit and then have some cauliflower cheese soup in the fridge for a quick lunch. Dinner tonight is a keema biriyani with minced beef (because I was too cheap to buy minced lamb 😆) and a whole lot of finely diced veg in there. It's a new to me recipe so if it's good, I'll share next week.

Morning all, your dad will be much happier at home Bubbs, and once he settles into a routine.
I managed to submit meter readings yesterday and received an updated statement late last night. Needless to say another trip round the house turning down or turning off happening.
Today's food is all leftovers and using up - breakfast is seeded bagel thin (HEXB) with mushrooms and tomatoes, lunch is last two SW sausages (hurray, not keen on them at all) with cauliflower cheese and roasted veg and I've still to decide on dinner, probably pasta with tomato sauce from the freezer.
Have a good day everyone!

Morning everyone,
@bubbs agree with others that your Dad will be much better in his own surroundings. Your poor mum though!
I have a very feint second line today, DH not suffering much apart from a bunged up nose (ask me how I know...) I'm leaving on a coach from London this evening and will arrive in Glasgow at 7am tomorrow, then onwards to Inverness. Forecast isn't great but we have lots of warm and waterproof clothing and at least we aren't camping out this time! Every cloud. Will be masked up on transport and everywhere in Scotland as rules don't change until at least 18 April. Lord knows what I'll be eating along the way, but hoping the walking will offset it ALL!
Was berated by boss yesterday for not being in the office despite me having two lines on LFT and DH with Covid. This is DHSC in action folks - read that and weep. Just can't wait for a break.
Food today:
B - shreddies and milk - HEB/HEA
L - butternut squash and roasted pepper soup, mini babybel, salad leaves, tomatoes, pickles - S. HEA
D - ?? Might do chicken, potato and kale bake as have some kale to use up.
Snacks - kiwi, apple, hifi bar - 3 syns

Safe journey tonight @Coxy11. Do keep in touch if you can as it's good to hear about your travels. That's shocking about the DHSC. It's worrying that from today there'll be almost no control on testing or isolating. I'm fortunate that I have no underlying conditions but it's scary for vulnerable people. We were with friends on Wednesday and 3 of them have had Covid in the past month or so. 2 were fine but the third is really suffering from fatigue and it's impacting his life.
It's good to hear that we're all trying to be sensible with food buying but still eat healthily and well. I like lamb @ruby_eskimo but both the price and the fat content mean I only have it occasionally.
I expect you'll be home soon @joedenise. Knowing you, you'll have something suitably SW friendly in the freezer. 😁 DH was only saying last night how he feels the quality of food has gone down when eating out compared with pre Covid. Your birthday lunch yesterday sounded very good though. 😋
I took photos of the meter readings last night @Jellybaby. I haven't sent them in (perhaps I should?🤔), just wanted them as a back up in case the next bill is wrong.
Fridge is fairly empty and I plan to use most of what's in there tonight. I've done my meal plan and will shop later on.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, fried egg, bacon (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
L- ham, fried egg (P), fried veg hash (bits of pepper, courgette, spring onion, baby corn etc) and beetroot (S)
D- fishcake, SW chips, peas (F), carrot chips, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes (S)
Syns- Morrisons fishcake 2, weekend wine😊0 -

Good evening everyone! It's been a busy one. We left early this morning to avoid the traffic, just had to put our keys through the office letter box. We'd planned on leaving about 8am thinking the office would be open by then but when DH popped down to check what time they opened it wasn't until 9am so we decided to leave as soon as we were ready so left about 7.20 and got home about 1pm having stopped on the way at the services to have something to eat and a cup of tea (and use the loo of course!).
Have had a fairly good day but over by a couple of syns:
B - bacon sandwich - HEB; P; 2.5
L - 5 KFC mini fillets - 15 syns
D - prawn & smoked salmon pasta with cheese sauce - HEA2; P; S
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - Primula/Laughing Cow (used 0.5 of each)
HEB - bread
Syns - butter 2.5; KFC 15
@ruby_eskimo - that's terrible about having someone in the office a few days after testing positive but I can see it happening more and more with the introduction of payment for LFTs. Can't see many people bothering now they have to be paid for.
@Coxy11 - hope your walk in Scotland goes well. Hope the weather isn't too bad for you. Hope you manage to get internet signal from time to time to let us know how your walk is going.
@bubbs - glad your dad is home now. I'm sure as others have said that he was just really frustrated with being in hospital and that he thought he was coming home yesterday rather than today.
@maman - I definitely think it's worth sending in your meter readings. If you do that at least you can be sure they've got them so your next bill should be accurate. I managed to get through today shortly after we got home but I still won't get a bill until the normal cycle which isn't until mid May! I will be changing provider as soon as I can once things have settled down as I really hate only getting 2 bills a year. My last company used to do a bill as soon as I input my readings which I much preferred.
I'm pretty sure I've put some weight on over the week as food hasn't been exactly on plan this week all the time, particularly when eating out. Will weigh in the morning to see what the damage is. I've booked next Wednesday off at group so I've got about 10 days or so to lose as much as possible of it before my next WI.
