Afternoon all, have had a nice couple of days.  It's been a bit colder but still dry and quite bright.  Think there's rain forecast later and for tomorrow.

Newton Abbot was a nice town to walk around. Today we've been to Dartmouth - walked into town and got the bus to Kingswear then a ferry across the River Dart.  Had a lovely lunch - garlic mushrooms in a cream sauce on a wholemeal muffin with loads of salad - I couldn't manage all the salad there was just too much.  I'm surprised how full I still feel!  I made a curry yesterday which we were going to have for dinner tonight but quite honestly don't think either of us are hungry enough for it so may end up just having some crackers and cheese later.

Glad your dad is feeling better @bubbs and he definitely sounds as though he's getting back to his old self!

    Morning everyone,

Glad you're having a nice time away @joedenise

Food looks good as always @bubbs and nice to use leftovers so no stress to put together.

Hope you enjoyed your evening @maman

DH tested positive for Covid for the second time yesterday as clearly he wants to try out all the different strains. I still had two lines on LFT yesterday and still no taste or smell. The lunchtime veggie chilli was hot though, as my tongue was tingling. DS2 ended up not eating with us last night, so we shared the balti jar of curry sauce with prawns. 7.5 syns for my portion of sauce, so total for yesterday was 8.5 syns.

    Food today:
    B - poached eggs, grilled bacon, spinach, mushrooms - P, S
L - tinned mackerel in tomato sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles - P, S
D - spaghetti bolognaise (will add celery and peppers), parmesan - P, S, HEA
    HEA - milk
    HEB - hi fi bar
    No syns planned

Morning all, can't believe how much colder it is this morning.  It's a bit cloudy but still dry and looks like the rain has bypassed us and none forecast until tomorrow which is when we'll be travelling home so that's OK - at least we'll be dry!

It's my big birthday today and we're going to go to a couple of NT properties and we'll have lunch out somewhere but no idea where!

We ended up having some of the curry later than usual last night with a mini naan bread but no rice.  So we'll have the rest of it with some rice tonight as we've got no way of taking it home and don't want to bin it.  I have to say it was probably one of the nicest curries I've ever made and I didn't think I'd actually done anything different to usual!  The only thing different was a different brand of tomatoes to usual so maybe it was that!

We're having scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast for breakfast so something a bit different to usual.  At least 2 meals will be on plan today!  Suspect lunch won't be.  Will also have a glass of wine or 2 this evening as we only had a couple of small glasses last night so still half a bottle left.

@Coxy11 - sorry to hear your DH has tested positive again; this strain seems to be much more contagious that previous ones.  Hope both of you get better soon.

Glad to hear your dad is getting back to his old self.  Of course it's going to be a long journey back to health but I'm sure he'll get there soon as he seems to be recovering well.

  • Happy birthday Denise, be bold and go off plan for the day! Have a great one :)

Morning all, happy birthday @joedenise have a lovely day!

Have been trying for the last two hours to submit meter readings and think so must everyone else as the website keeps crashing.  I'll just have to be patient and try later.

Breakfast today is tomato and mushroom omelette, soft pitta (HEXB) with tuna and salad, 1.5 syns for salad cream and dinner will be steak, chips, onions, mushrooms and cauliflower cheese   I'm going to try the Schwartz  cheese sauce mix so some syns and HEXA used.

    Have a good day all.
