Bubbs, my mum was given 3 years 14 years ago, so we have been very lucky. Last November, she was given 12 mths, she said she will be happy with 6 months as she doesn’t want to go the pain of treatment again. She is a little younger than your dad, 82, so we all No it is limited time, all we can do is ensure she is as comfortable as possible & hope that is to the end. She has got past her birthday which was a relief as my dad died on his, so grateful that.
On better news, not quite the 1st loss the scales showed this morning, but at least it was 1lb off😂A smile costs little but creates much0 -
GTQ, That's good news that your mum has survived longer than they said and for you i am glad she has got past her Birthday.
I am just concerned as he is not strong at the start to start chemo as he has been so ill for many weeks but mum said in a weird way , today he looked relieved when he was told as in least he knows what is wrong , if you know what i mean?
Well done on your loss xSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
Better to know what you’re dealing with and what the treatment is than not knowing, imho. All good wishes to your dad xxCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 20/25 Currently reading Finding Hildasaay by Christian Lewis0

Morning,
Thinking of you @bubbs and hope you managed to get some rest. Not easy when you have worries, I know x
Bright start here and set to continue today so I will get some washing done and on the line. I have to go shopping at lunchtime for for veg to make a large quantity of cruditees and also the component parts of SW veg chilli (more of a chilli ratatouille really) as we are at a party tomorrow night and those are my contributions.
WI tomorrow morning and I really need to get things moving before then iyswim? Sorry if TMI but despite eating fibre, fruit and veg, things are very s-l-o-w and it's getting me down. I really need a loss tomorrow to spur me on.
Food today:
B - WM toast, jam, grapes - HEB, 1
L - LO salt and chilli chicken, salad leaves, tomatoes, pickles - 0.5, S
D - LO rigatoni bolognaise, parmesan - P, S, HEA
HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar, 2 rum and diet coke - 9
We are out tonight with friends so will have a couple of rums with diet coke and have diet coke the rest of the night.
Hope you all have a good day,
Coxy

Morning all. @bubbs I'm so sorry to hear about your dad but at least the main worry (the not knowing what is going on) has passed and you can all face this together. Sending you lots of hugs.
Sorry been a bit AWOL also - had last Friday off work, went to the pub for some friend's birthday's on Saturday then it was my birthday on Sunday and DH surprised me with drinks at the Shard (and yes I did go in the toilets that have the massive windows open to the world 😂) and then dinner at The London Steakhouse. Monday was another day off to recover and then Tuesday and Wednesday I was at my first in-person conference in over 2 years (very strange experience but also lovely to see people for a catch up). Yesterday was in the office and now I'm finally working at home in the peace and quiet as DH has gone into his office today 😁
Scale wise, it's coming off slowly but I'm still losing cm's each week. Haven't "worked out" this week as I've been walking over 20k steps a day while in London (getting all that practice in for Florida in 5 months time) and food has been good where I can. Breakfast this morning is usual ff yogurt and blueberries, lunch is cauliflower cheese soup with some bread and dinner is HM fish and chips.
Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying this slightly nicer weather we've been having.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Morning all, a lovely bright day here too. No washing planned for today (for a change) as got it all done yesterday.
Have a nurse appointment later this morning for my COPD as I'm having a bit of trouble with my breathing. Hoping she is able to do a spirometry today to see how bad it is as when I had my last review in about October she didn't have the equipment available to do it! Not much point in having a review without it!
Sounds like you've had a very enjoyable few days over the last weekend @ruby_eskimo. Glad you had a great birthday.
Today's plan:
B - American style pancakes, mixed frozen fruit and cherries, yoghurt - HEB; S; F
L - jacket potato, beans, salad - S; F
D - HM fishcakes, new boiled potatoes, minty crushed peas - P; F
HEA - milk
HEB - oats
Syns - probably a couple of rum & ginger beers this evening.
Have a good day everyone.0
