Morning everyone,
@beanielou – hope you’re feeling better. I am still resisting the mini egg bar that DS2 bought me two weeks ago 😊
@bubbs – great bargains and lovely photos as always
I made the bolognaise rigatoni from the latest mag last night - will be dinner for DS2 and I for tonight. Will freeze the rest. It looks very pasta heavy - 400g for 4 servings. Could get 3-4 portions to freeze, we'll see.
I also roasted a butternut squash, a yellow, red and orange pepper plus a couple of mini peppers that needed using, along with a red onion. Just sprayed with fry light and bunged in the oven for 30 mins. I then put them in the soup maker and added a veg stock cube, some seasoning, some chilli powder and topped up with water. This made a lovely thick smooth soup. I had a portion with some wholemeal bread for dinner last night. 3 more portions in the freezer.
Today's food:
B – 2 weetabix, blueberries – HEB, S
L – A!di salt and chilli chicken skewers x 2, salad, tomatoes, pickles – 1, S
D - bolognaise rigatoni, parmesan, broccoli - F, P, S, HEA
HEA – milkSnacks – grapes, hi fi bar – 3
Total syns - 4
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Afternoon all, back from group and just had my lunch and just sitting down having a cuppa. Was disappointed that I only lost 0.5lb again as had a good week. My consultant suggest SP days and when I said when I've done it before I've never felt full she said I probably wasn't having enough protein! I'd say some of my plates are a bit protein heavy - but as long as I get in my third of Speed a day it feels right but will try to have a few more SP meals but probably won't have SP days.
Today's plan:
B - mixed frozen fruit, frozen cherries, fat free greek style yoghurt - S; F
L - ham and beetroot sandwich with pickled onions, primula instead of butter or spread - part HEA2; HEB; P; S
D - chicken pie; mash; cabbage, green beans and peas - P; S; F; 0.5
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - primula
HEB - bread
Syns - cornflour 0.5; couple of rum & ginger beer 5
Have a good day everyone.

Well done on the 0.5lb loss @joedenise and good luck with the SP'ing - can't cope with that myself!
I had the A!di frozen salt and chilli chicken skewers for lunch. There's 4 in a pack, half a syn each. Was only going to cook two but they were stuck fast together, so cooked them all. Ate 3 of the 4 - couldn't manage the 4th but have put in fridge. Nice, quite a bit of chilli, would have again. Feeling very full now oink oink!
Doubt I will have a hi fi bar today now, so total of 1.5 syns for the chicken.

That's what I said @Coxy11 which was why my consultant said I wasn't having enough protein! Trouble is protein is the most expensive part of any meal; it's one of the reason I tend to add beans to stews and casseroles as it adds cheap protein in addition to the meat which I try to reduce the amount of (unless it's chicken which is pretty cheap anyway!).
Those skewers sound nice; I'm going into town on my own on Friday while DH is at golf so may try and pop into Aldi if I've got time before my appointment with the nurse. I want to try and get to some of the charity shops as well as could do with some thicker jumpers! I've only got one really thick one plus one lined one (which isn't particularly warm!). Mostly I've got thinner cardigans which are fine in the warmer weather but it's the between times like now and Autumn where I want some warmer jumpers!
