    Belated happy birthday Maman.
Hope you had a good deay.
Oh yes @beanielou and it hasn't stopped yet. My trip to London is to celebrate and @bubbs made me a pudding. 😁
  • Hi all,

Hope you are all keeping well.

Not checked in for a couple of weeks, lost 1.5lbs last week and another 2 today, 1/2lb to reach my 1.5st and my Daughter has 1/2lb to get her first stone.

I am really pleased with how I've done so far, but every now and then it hits me just how far I have to go, and 14lbs feels quite a journey.

My plan for this week is be more active and drink more fluids! I've really noticed the tone in my face is a lot poorer of late, I know this is primarily through not drinking enough, but as a secondary measure my Husband treated me to a full set of face moisturiers and serums. I think I'm losing weight from the top down as it's my face and shoulders that have noticeably shrunk!
Any tips on making sure to drink enough most welcome

I've put a meat order in today, so going to fill my freezer, once this arrives, should work out to be at least 11 meals at £4.80 each and that's to feed 5, and  gives me a chance to mix my menu up again

    Hello!
Apologies for being AWOL. I’ve been away in London and at my mum’s. I’ve not been on plan pretty much at all- but the upside of eating certain foods is that I’m no longer bunged up! I’ve also done 65500 steps over 4 days- when you consider that I usually only do 5k a day if I’m lucky that’s a massive amount.

When I got home and weighed myself, I’ve lost 3lbs which I’m pretty chuffed at. I had a phone appointment with the diabetes nurse and she’s really pleased with how I’ve done. I told her how my blood sugars have been and she is more than happy for me to carry on diet control. She says I’ve done incredibly well and she’s really pleased with me.
I’ve had a busy few days. I went on a big shopping spree at Westfield White City on Tuesday (I managed to spend 65 quid in Primark alone- ooops) For lunch that day I ate in my very fave restaurant The Alchemist and when I finally hauled myself away from Westfield (complete with 8 carrier bags- I still have no idea how I managed to navigate the Tube from one side of London to the other without losing something) I had a very lovely Chinese meal for tea (more chips 😂)

Wednesday I had a sandwich for breakfast (I was on my way er- somewhere 😂) then I went to the Museum of London (that was fab but too many skeletons for my liking. I have a terrible fear of skeletons- for someone who used to be a nurse that’s a weird fear to have 😂) Lunch was a Boots meal deal and then I headed back to my hotel to do a quick change before I went off to see James Arthur at the Royal Albert Hall. That was unreal- an amazing experience. I had Five Guys (a huge portion of fries and a hot dog with all kinds of gorgeous toppings)

Thursday I travelled up to mum’s. Another sarnie for breakfast and an all day brunch at Spoons before the train journey from hell (Lumo aka Ryanair of the railways!! Never again) Friday I went to a back to the 80’s night with my sister. We went for a meal before and I had scampi, chips and peas. However that was cancelled out by an absolutely mammoth walk to the venue- that night was an absolute scream. My sister got horrendously drunk (I was drinking an absolutely gorgeous 0% IPA but oh the sugar content) We were right in front of the stage, we had a brilliant view of what was going on.

Saturday- I went looking for an absolutely knockout dress. I am going to a DJ set next month hosted by my very favourite person. Normally when I see this person it’s quite early morning and I look an absolute state so I wanted to look really good. I went round every single women’s clothing shop in Newcastle City Centre and found absolutely nothing. I ordered a dress from Club L and it came yesterday- I was a bit underwhelmed. Slightly gutted but thankfully I have a couple of decent backups.

Anyway that’s enough of my exploits 😂
    Monday’s menu:
B: HEXB Lizi’s granola, blueberries and FF natural Greek yoghurt
L: Mackerel, couscous (0.5) veg. Skinny bar (3)
D- Roasted sea bass with bacon and tomatoes. Rice (3.5) veg. Chocolate (4.5)
S: Scrambled eggs and beans; decaf coffee with HEXA
    Syns: 11.5
    Night all xx

Morning all, another lovely day.  Need to go do some shopping this morning and only have one egg left and I need that for breakfast!

Well done @Jellybaby and daughter on your losses over the last couple of weeks and good luck for your awards next week!  You can do it.

Good idea to get the freezer stocked up and to mix your meals up a bit.  I always try to add lots of veg to stretch the meat further.

Sounds like you've had a very busy time @MrsRyan!  I feel exhausted just reading it.  I assume you're going to send the dress back if you are underwhelmed by it?   You've drawn the line under your trip and definitely back on plan with yesterday's menu.  It's great that your diabetes nurse is happy for you to continue with diet control to control it.

    Today's plan:

B - Welsh rarebit - bread; cheese; egg, Worcester sauce, mustard powder, onion powder, garlic powder - HEA2; HEB; P; F
    L - jacket potato; tuna mayo; salad - P; S; F; 1
D - beef stew (from freezer); mash; mashed swede (LO from Sunday); green veg

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

Well done @annabanana82 and daughter on the losses. You are doing so well.

@MrsRyan goodness me - don't think I've been that busy this past year lol! Great that the nurse is pleased with your diet control measures.

I stocked up on F&V plus lean meat at A!di last night. DH is going to Newcastle this afternoon and staying overnight so my planned rigatoni bolognaise will be for tomorrow. Might make it tonight though as I'll have the oven on roasting a butternut squash plus a load of peppers that need using up. Will make soup with those for my dinner tonight and will freeze the rest.

    Food today:
    B - poached egg, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms - P, S
L - half pack of Eastmans sweet and smoky chicken (from T's), salad, tomatoes, pickles - 1, S
    D - roasted butternut and pepper soup, WM bread - S, B
    HEA - milk
    HEA - mini babybel x 2
Snacks - hi fi bar, blueberries, pineapple - 3
    Total syns - 4

Bought some frozen chicken skewers in A!di - salt and chilli flavour - 1/2 syn each. Will be trying those this week. There were other flavours but the scanner on the app wouldn't pick those up. Also got a Slimwell frozen Chicken Saag curry which is 2 syns for the 500g pack. I've tried the Tikka Masala, so will compare.

    Have a good day everyone,
    Coxy

    Morning all,

@maman have a lovely time in London
@annabanana82 well done to you and your daughter, great losses
@MrsRyan whew!  No wonder you did all those steps, you never stop  but sounds like you had the most amazing time.
@Coxy11 oooohh I looked at these skewers last week, let's know what they're like

Bran flakes (HEB) with f/f Greek yoghurt and strawberries for breakfast again today, the last of the lentil soup for lunch and dinner is 'beefy beany thingy'!  How it's known in our house!  A recipe DS found a while back and can't remember the name but it's a bit like chilli but uses black beans mashed as well as whole.

    Have a good day!

Change of plan for lunch!  We went to a new butchers/fishmonger in the next town, same town as Lidl and Food Warehouse where I needed to go today and we ended up spending quite a bit including some mussels which DH is going to cook for lunch in cider.  I won't be drinking the sauce!  Hopefully not too many syns there but will be having a small piece of French stick (part bake).  Will weigh it to work out syns.  No alcohol planned today as it's WI tomorrow morning.
