Well, a lovely night at bingo and very profitable!  Had a nice win and, as promised, my friend was there with £20 of £2 coins for me - all patterned.  I had:
1 x rugby world cup
1 x Richard Trevithick
2 x 60th anniversary of the 2nd world war
1 x Magna carta
1 x For King and Country
2 x Shakespeares Tragedies
2 x Shakespeares histories

From my change from my diet drink, I received 1 plain and 1 x Britannia

Can't wait until Tuesday now!

Well done StokieBecks - £64 is an amazing amount.  Hopefully February will be very lucky for you.

CazzieLT - I'm with you on using the normal checkouts now.  I'm starting to think they've stopped putting £2 coins in the self service machines!

Bumper day today.

Swapped £10 at work as they hate having loads of coins to cash up and then won  £10  on a scratchcard so asked the cashier if they had any £2 coins and they paid me the full £10 out in £2s hurrah so £20 added to the pot today. Mostly plain but one industrial revolution coin, a first world war one and brunel one

Wowsers, good results all round! I will now be joining claremylove at bingo and StokieBecks at the scratchcard shop! In the meantime, fortunately I have a few well-trained people in my life - my office buddy is coordinating two birthday collections and nabbed two coins for me to swap, and little bro found me a third, so three in the pot for Cazzie today xxx

Hi team.  Now back from a few days away.  Had quite nice weather - dry, but cold.  

Well done Hummingbird0_1 on getting another £2.  I know what you mean about how hard it can be to get your hands on one.  

There seems to be more nowadays where I live, West Cornwall, and I'm pleased to say that my corner shop seems to have been saving them for me whilst I've been away.  So I've pocketed another £16.  All plain except for one 1st World War and one Marconi.  All safely potted with their 'friends'.

Good skills StokieBecks and congrats on the scratchcard win!  I've had a couple of small wins with lucky dips on the main draw, but have recently been playing the Set For Life game and had two £5 wins out of 3 goes, which I would say isn't too bad!  If only I could get the top prize!

I've been trying to pay more with cash here and there....but I can't seem to get any £2 coins!

lindsaygalaxy, you seem to be in the same position I was last year.  Tried so hard and still nothing, other than being able to keep a tight grip on my finances by paying cash from a set amount of money - which in itself was worth the effort!  

This year, I'm fortunate that I feel able to go back to bingo a couple of times a week (despite there only being 26 of us in the local RBL hall last Tuesday night) and that my friend who saves them for me is also back on Sunday nights.  They are also slowly appearing at my local corner shop and the staff there know I save them which does help a bit.  Alas, I've had absolutely no luck in the self service checkouts so far this year - they obviously aren't putting any in the machines down this neck of the woods.  

Keep persevering - they will turn up eventually!
