£2 savers club for 2022

Welcome everyone to the £2 savers club for 2022.  I've taken over the reigns of GemGem this year  :).  As always, the aim is to collect every £2 coin you can lay your hands on!

It is entirely up to you whether you want to:
A) Save for a particular reason e.g. to pay the car insurance, to pay for a family holiday or to buy birthday presents throughout the year,
B)Save until you have a specific amount e.g. £104 or £200  or a pot full!
C) Save for any other reason you can think of...

Above all else remember this is a fun thread, but the aim of this website is to SAVE, so any help you can give to others are always very welcome.

Anyone who wishes to join is always very welcome, please just start posting. Also, if anyone wants to add anything to the list such as a target etc. then let me know and I will add it. However there is no pressure to do this as many people just wish to be able to save as and when they can.

So that’s it. Start saving, comment regularly e.g. let us know what type of coin you have obtained and hopefully it won't be too long before those pots are feeling heavy.
If you haven’t already, join the forum to reply.

  • Thank you for your reply on the old thread - I'd like to join please :)

I don't have a specific target or goal but this year is all about debt repayment so it will either go to doing that or to doing something fun as a reward if I pay off a significant amount.

Please could I join the challenge again, claremylove? Thank you for taking it on so we can keep going with it (and thank you Gem-gem for running it so beautifully in 2021). I'm going to stick with my target of £200 - even though I've struggled the last couple of years with there being less cash around, it's still good to aim high, right!?

    Furniture Fund - £3,000 / White Goods Fund - £3,000 / Flooring Fund - £3,000
    Emergency Fund - £6,000
366 Day Penny Challenge for 2024 - £324.45/£671.61 (Holiday Fund)

Almost happy new year, to all!
Rousing thankyous to claremylove for taking this on & huge thankyous to Gem-gem for your tolerance & patience with my & the <insert adjective of choice> washing machine which devoured so much of my hard work.
I did manage to make my target, so this year I shall go for 40 plain & 20 pretty, (now I have rumbled the supermarket will not change down notes but will change up coins...)  And I have an Empty Pig ready for the New Year (cheers youngest!) so no sock need be rifled for change. Bank of Pig has a stickyplaster to discourage short term loans...
  • Welcome back CazzieLT and DigForVictory.  I've added your numbers to post 2 above - CazzieLT you are number 4 and DigForVictory you are number 5.

  • My pot was emptied this morning, managed £256 last year which isn't bad considering such a bad start to the year - it seemed to take forever to get to £100!  A bit more glue added to keep the pot together (it's getting quite battered now) but looking good as new as long as I drop the coins in gently  :D.  It's a pottery pot so I have to get the coins out with the help of a pallett knife.

I hope 2022 is far better than the last couple of years have been for many - only time will tell.  In the meantime, a very Happy New Year to everyone
