Welcome to the challenge, poppett! You're well on the way already!

How lovely to be talking of lighter days and daffodils! Now we're in February everything just seems a little bit nicer, doesn't it!? And my February has started off well - three wins for the pot, one from Mr. T's when buying stamps (once I got up off the floor having been reminded of the price of stamps - the £2 coin eased the pain!) and two more from the legend that is my Tiny Bro - I think he's going to be my ticket to target this year finally!

Well done to everyone who has been potting away, and I hope you all have a happy and positive February  xxx

  • Welcome to the £2 savers club Poppet  :) .  It's lovely to have you on board and you are team member number 13.

Seems like you're off to a flying start with around £40 already in the pot.  Do you have a target you would like to aim for?  Some people do, other's just want to see how many they can find.  And please let us know if you find any 'patterned' coins.

Look forward to hearing about your collecting as the year progresses.

The next two £2 one plain one pretty (United into one kingdom, 2007, looks like a heraldic jigsaw) were thanks to Asda customer services swapping pound coins into two pound coins & I carefully didn’t look (beyond two coins). Wouldn’t want to offend & raucous cheers might have disconcerted lovely staff! Doubles my total so far!
  • Oh wow, you've had a successful day!  Our local Asda is about 9 miles away so don't go there very often but perhaps I should persuade hubby to go there.

I didn't make it into town today.  Started looking for something in the back bedroom and I've been all day tearing everything out and giving it a big spring clean.  Didn't find any money in there but still very satisfying.  Wheelie bin is now full ready for collection on Monday and I've recycled loads - luckily the recycling also goes on Monday.  And I found what I was looking for!

It's bingo tomorrow for me - hoping to be lucky both in winnings and also £2 coins!  Only time will tell  :):)

And Mr. T delivered again! But you know what? Forget self-service - it's power to the people! We walked all the way there so we treated ourselves to a cheeky beverage in a well-known coffee-based establishment whilst we finished catching up on the working week - served by a smiley human and delivered coin number one  Then I had to do a bit of a bigger shop so I went for a human again - totally grumpy one this time but he saved himself with the right coinage in my change! And here we stand at £32! 2022 is gonna be my year! xxx

PS - Bingo tomorrow for us too, claremylove - here's hoping for wins all round! I've yet to get any £2s from the bingo club but I'll keep giving them another chance! xxx

Didn't add any more coins to my January total but have potted 4 coins today so am up to £64

Would have been 5 coins but noticed one was the Marconi one hubby has been after so he had that one off me but least I can stop looking for it now.
