Nice lady at Asda customer services saw my handful of pound coins & was willing to swap, but only had the one (plain) £2 coin. Still, that's another coin in the pig...
  • Finally received 2 lovely coins in change from shopping today, 1 plain and 1 Brunel.

Looks like everyone has had an excellent week for collecting those lovely golden coins :) .

Three more for me this week, all courtesy of the corner shop and all plain but I don't mind.  Bingo tonight so I'm ever hopeful for a win and will be even more delighted if there's a £2 coin in my winnings!

Weather has turned out quite nice now.  Walked the dog on the beach for a couple of hours this morning.  Roast chicken now in the combination microwave (to save putting the oven on).  It's starting to make some strange noises but I just checked the receipt from when we bought it, and it turns out we've had it since December 2008, so that's very good and I guess we can expect it to make some strange noises.  As long as it keeps cooking, I will be happy!

FINALLY some success after a distinctly dry spell - the self-service till in the land where everything used to cost a pound only went and gave me a shiny £2 coin, and a funky one too! William Shakespeare. That takes Cazzie to £44. Definitely slowed up after my rip-roaring start to the year but I can be patient!

Hope the bingo came good, claremylove! Alternate Sundays and Tuesdays for Cazzie so I'll be trying my luck next weekend, but my wins there are even more of a rarity! xxx

  • Well done CassieLT.  See, you just never know when they are going to turn up!  And a patterned one too - bonus  :)

Alas, the bingo win did not come to fruition.  I was very close first game, then it just went terrible and I couldn't even get down to 2 numbers.  Still had a nice couple of hours out thought.

Not sure I'm going tomorrow as it's hubby's birthday but he may say I can go.

So no advance for me on my £2 coin savings but that's ok - they will be found  :D

I abandoned my principles & pleaded with the post office for £2 coins in my change. They gave me the only 2 coins (plain) they had!

Not sure how many coins I have potted since I last wrote in here (sorry!) but currently have £110 in the tin

Not sure how I will fare with my target for this year now everything is starting to go up in price  as there will be less disposable income - but will keep going as any savings are better than none.

Not a problem StokieBecks. Try and post when ever you can.

Totally understand what you mean about costs going up - we will hear at lunchtime if interest rates will rise again this year.  I pay for food by cash to keep within my food budget and the money certainly doesn't go as far as it used to  :(   .
