  • Crikey, you have all been very busy!  I've been busy with my main job preparing for audit in the next 2 weeks.  Will be pleased when that is over and I can return to normality.  But you never know what they are going to ask you for so have to get everything ready.

Whilst I have been busy with work, I have also been busy collecting those lovely gold coins which we are all chasing!  I've had good collection from my corner shop, the hairdressers came up trumps as only had a £20 note (what a shame) so got one in my change!  Mr P magically came up with 4 yesterday on the self service till (paid for a £1 item with a crisp £10 note  :D) and whilst I haven't had any wins at bingo (it will happen), the lady behind the bar has managed to give me several in my change.

All in all, the past fortnight has seen an increase of £60  :).  All plain except for 1 x abolition of slavery, 1 x Brunel, 1 x DNA, 1 x 1st world war, and 1 x Britannia.  Hoping my newly glued pot will not buckle under the strain so going to drop them in really gently.

I've had zero wins on the premium bonds (I'm also sure that will happen at some point), but at least I've got my savings pot to hand when needed!

And again, a lovely lady at Asda swapped me nuggets for a £2, smiling that she saves them too!

A lady at Asda who (bless her) finds me hilarious, willingly changed a handful of change into £2, then mid process stopped & checked the 2 she gave me were pretties! WW2 (St Pauls in floodlights) & I think a handover to Rio (flags, baton)!

Ahh, that's so thoughtful DigforVictory  :).  My corner shop is a bit like that - if they haven't got any in one till, they go search in the other one!

Only 8 for me since my last post.  Not been out much was prepping for audit, which didn't happen in the end as the lovely auditor got his dates messed up, but hubby has been decorating the dining room so I've ended up spending my evenings rubbing down walls  :#.  Still, it's nearly done now.  We were going to buy some yellow paint for the walls, but have just been given a whole tub, pretty much in the yellow tone we wanted!  Obviously, we took it  :D - be rude to say no!

I'm out to bingo tonight.  Did manage a late win last Tuesday (my first win for some 7 or 8 weeks) so going again to see if my luck continues.  Still, it will be a night away from the sandpaper  :D.

My total for April is £42! That includes 2 picture coins - 1807 slavery and the Magna Carta (not seen this before). I also recieved my first coin for May last night in my change from the chippy!

Oh, that was a nice surprise Veebree!  And don't worry about how much you have saved - any amount saved is still better than nothing saved :)

I get quite a few because I pay cash for pretty much everything, which opens the opportunity for more gold coins to arrive in my change.  So, yesterday, I had to put fuel in my car so paid cash as usual and that secured me 2 x £2 coins in my change, and then hubby popped into a local DIY store and managed to secure another one for me.  But that has problems in itself as I work on a fairly tight budget, so every coin I get reduces how much budget I have left for the month.  Still can't say no if I'm offered one though  :D

Seems you had an excellent April, Nellie75  :).  I've had the Magna Carta one before - it's very pretty isn't it?

Good luck for your May collection  :)
