Well, I've now counted up my pile and have added another £30 to my pot.  10 plain ones, but seems that 'special' ones are out in circulation.  I had one each of the abolition of slavery, DNA helix, Brunel bridge, Robert Burns (not had that one before) and finally one for the first world war.  

I've had to empty my pot again and used what was in there to go towards my car bill.  Gearbox and clutch went at the same time so had a very unexpected bill of £1,500 to deal with. 

I'm now feeling rather skint to be honest, but there are people worse off than me - at least I had some savings behind me which I will start to build up again.  That's the joy of having forums like this where everyone encourages everyone else to get a little bit of cash behind them ready for when emergencies occur.  The support in here is amazing and for that I'm truly grateful that I'm a forum member 

It's bingo tonight - hopefully I will be luckier than the tin of peaches I won last week

Oh so sorry to hear about that massive bill for the car Clare,  but as you say at least the savings challenges have helped ease the situation a bit!
