Hello! Sorry I've not been on for a while, but in that time I have managed to bank 8 beautiful coins, all plain but very lovely all the same! That takes me to £88, which I'm chuffed with - almost half way to my target already and we're a little way from being half way through the year. Good year for coinage down my way! Glad you have all had some successes and keep up the good work! xxx

Busy couple of weeks - unscheduled visit by family for a week and the usual dentist/doctors/opticians appts stuck in middle of it all.  But hopefully a nice straightforward week ahead of me  :).

I've had a good couple of weeks collecting my lovely gold coins.  Added up my pile of coins this morning and can now add £42 to my pot.  Mostly from bingo (seems everyone there now knows I collect them), but I've been successful in £land and also a lovely lady on the till in MrT who apologised that she didn't have any £5 notes so had to give me my change in £2 coins - obviously I didn't complain  :D.

That has dented significantly my budget for this month, but it's all for a good cause - my emergency fund - so I will have to make good choices for the rest of the month.  Perhaps it's time to stop buying chocolate which I love, but it's not an essential food item so in these times of being careful, it may have to be forgone for the moment (although I'm sure my hips will be pleased to not get any bigger!).

It's been decided that, during June, there won't be any bingo sessions on a Tuesday evening due to a lot of people being on holiday.  That will help with the lack of funds (I'm still not winning anything) so I will likely have less £2 coins next month as a result.  I'm ok with that as I'm about where I wanted to be (maybe even a little ahead for May) and with prices increasing everywhere, funds need to be prioritised.

Happy saving everyone - I'd better get to work.

Good morning to you on this lovely sunny day (well, I hope the sun is also shining where you are!)

Just banked 3 beauties found for me by my wonderful friends and family this week (got them so well trained now!) I'm so excited to be at nearly £100, I haven't reached that amount for the last 2 years and now I'm about to do it in less than 6 months! Great year for our club! Hope you all have some finds this weekend and some lovely times with your loved ones xxx

May's haul was worth £46! This included x2 Brunel, 1 Shakespeare, 1 underground and 1 Darwin.

I went to my Quiz night last night and managed to snaffle 3 coins from my brother and 1 from my Dad. A great start to June's collection!

I'm off to London for the Jubilee weekend and will probably use more card payments than cash. I hope you all enjoy the extra Bank Holiday and the lovely weather that seems to have arrived with it!

Hope everybody had a lovely jubilee weekend!  I spent mine camping in the New Forest; never been there before, and have to say I'm hooked :).  We were lucky with the weather, certainly enough for us to get out and about and visit a few gorgeous villages - with some equally lovely bakeries ( :D).  Now back on the diet as did rather spoil ourselves, but that's what holidays are for!

Didn't have any internet connection at all whilst I was away, but I guess it's good to have a break once in a while.  I've got another internet break this week.  Due to us changing internet providers because of cost increases (almost doubling as we leave our promotional period), from tomorrow i will be without internet for a whole week  :#.  I will have limited amount on the phone but its never as easy as sitting down with the laptop.  Can't wait for the new router to arrive so I know it's really happening.  We should be back up and running on 14th June.

Anyway, my haul has increased by £22.  All plain but safely potted.

Well done Hummingbird0_12, your total is really starting to increase now.  And don't worry about being 'quiet' on the forum.  It's a place to pop in and update the group with your finds and update your totals.

CazzieLT - you are certainly having a very successful year!  The benefits of friends and family helping us to gather our gold bullion are definitely paying off for you!  Lets hope that continues and you can smash your previous record.

Nellie75 - that's an amazing haul for May.  Bet you are chuffed to bits!  Let's hope June continues as well as it has started for you :).

Grumpyoldmoo - I think you are going to pass your target easily - let me know if you want to change it.  You are doing so well finding the patterned coins - only seem to have plain down here in West Cornwall but I'm still grateful for those to turn up.

Seems I have competition at bingo now - 3 others have decided to collect the coins, so the poor barmaid has competition for the ones she does get.  But that's ok - my corner shop still comes up trumps!

Have a good week everyone - happy collecting  :).

Just counted up my total and £22 all together. No way as good as some people’s but pretty chuffed with that anyway!

Trying not to pout, but lass at Asda customer service (young, just out of training) said they didn't change Any coin these days "what with covid". I smiled & thanked her & puttered off swearing silently. At this rate I'll make an appointment with the bank!
