Just got the sun ⛅️ to finish before I start part 3. I went off piste & stitched the dungarees a darker blue. Should have been same colour as water and I thought it was too pale.

Hi Nmm. I love the bees, I’d keep them too. My DS and his GF gave me a hand made felted one for Christmas. I’ve posted an update for How does your garden grow, nearly finished all current updates save the fork and trowel. Sorry bit creased.Sad news is my MIL passed away on 5th April peacefully in her sleep at the hospital two weeks after her stroke. There was so much to do we were lucky we had taken some annual leave. Her funeral is arranged for 3rd May. FIL is understandably struggling, it would have been their 63rd anniversary on 11th & he was 91 on 12th. He has been tired for a long time. He has needed a lot of support with everything as he has now lost his purpose. We took over a dozen bin sacks of clothes to the CS and have filled 1 skip. Sobering. Coxy brilliant work on the Jogle. Hi all,
Sorry to hear about MIL Charly xx Such a lot to sort out for you and OH, plus trying to process the emotional pain as well - sending lots of love xx Great update on the SAL
Lovely update nmm - hope you can take to the 7 seas soon!
Well the latest JoGLE instalment was better than expected. Great weather and scenery. DSis got blisters again on her right foot from day one, but we installed Compeed and liner socks to help manage the pain. Next trip will be Milngavie (just above Glasgow) to Carlisle I think. Hoping to do this over a week in the Autumn or next Spring depending on work.
Talking of work, I've applied for a level transfer and am interviewing next week. They are seeing 4 of us and I'm last to be seen. Very nervous but will appreciate the interview practice if nothing else!
Knitted hat number 5 is well underway and I'm not far off doing the shaping and sewing up. Out at cinema tonight (Operation Mincemeat) but DH out tomorrow so will crack on with it then. Have promised the K&K group 10. No stitching done for weeks (understandably) but might get on it at the weekend once the latest hat is finished.

Me again!
Have had a weird week at work as no main boss and second boss is very self-sufficient. Have severe post-holiday blues and have been applying for external jobs - have already had one 'no' and another application went in this morning. Not holding out much hope of the internal vacancy but like I said before, the practice will be welcome.
I tidied the spare room yesterday and had previously put aside some mags, knitted patterns and cross stitch patterns of designs I'd completed. Took those to the charity shop at lunchtime, along with a load of children's books, so hope they will make some pennies for them.
I went to the library at lunchtime yesterday and borrowed a sewing book. Would love to be more confident with the sewing machine, enough to make cushions etc. There was a course advertised locally - one day - to make a simple bag, but it's £95 and I just don't have the money right now. I'm going to give the envelope-back cushions a go as we have a few cushion pads spare. Also need to make a seat pad cover for a pew seat we have been given for the hallway. Was thinking of getting a rectangular pad in Dune!m and crocheting some solid grannie squares/border to cover it. Need to think about colours and placement though.
We are out for a curry with friends tonight. Have some DIY planned for tomorrow plus a much needed haircut for me. Seeing the new Sandra Bullock film in the evening. Might visit a car boot sale on Sunday morning if the weather is okay. It's all go!
Hope you're all doing okay,
Coxy xx

Hi, you and Dsis did exceptionally well if she had blisters from day 1. Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling so demotivated about work since your return. Good luck with level transfer and your latest external application.I’m finding my awareness of how short and precious life is means I’m thinking increasingly of early retirement. I finished March part of SAL then very next day I was emailed part 4
so wasn’t ahead for long. This one is sunflowers and lavender so enjoying it so far.
£95 for a day’s sewing course sounds a lot Coxy. Book and You Tube sound like a good plan in the first instance. Wish I was close enough to hold your handSo lucky that my mum taught me at 7. I can’t crochet for toffee though!

We really need to have a meet up, charly can teach coxy to sew, i can teach charly to crochet and coxy can teach me to knit, perfect
I'm crocheting my summer top after restarting it so now the 3 balls of wool will be enough, i've completed the back about to start the front. Been busy sorting out the boat and upgrading a few bits, we went for that sail last Saturday, it was great fun i steered the boat for a little while
Sorry to hear about your MIL charly, hope time is helping. Loving the SAL updates and as for early retirement, i say go for it.
Coxy, well done on your JoGLE efforts, if you do end up in Carlisle let me know, i'll come a meet you with cake!!! Have fun learning to sew, i agree youtube is your friend lots of great tutorials on there. Good luck with the job hunting.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:1 -
Wouldn’t that be lovely Nmm? We’d be masters in no time. Funeral all planned for Tuesday. Work have given me a discretionary day’s leave to attend. FIL struggling.
I’ve stitched 2 of the 3 sunflowers 🌻 Used brown instead of orange but no frogging for me, I think it looks okay. Sunflowers have a brown calyx IMHO! I may do the third one orange and yellow. It good be the one that has just blossomed

Hi everyone,
Good that work are being accommodating Charly and hope that the service and day itself goes as well as it can do. Not easy for anyone least of all your FIL xx Loving the updates from the SAL and the fact you're making it your own.
nmm - good plan about a meet up - we'd need a few days I reckon! Get you, steering a boat! Braver than me that's for sure.
I interviewed for an internal level transfer on Tuesday and heard yesterday that I wasn't successful. I was in the office and bumped into one of the interview panel in the kitchen! Apparently I didn't sell myself enough which is probably very true. Had a conversation with boss about development opportunities and feeling stuck/demotivated. She is going to see what projects I might be able to take on. Still have a couple of external applications out there in the ether, so will see what comes up.
No crafting done whatsoever. Had hoped to do some last night but didn't get home until 7.30 and was pooped. Have seen another project to knit a scarf for Dewy Body Dementia. They are going to stitch them together and wrap around the Royal Albert Hall:

A friends Dad had Lewy so I'd like to do my bit if possible.
Long weekend ahead. Seeing DMum and DSis/BIL tomorrow, DIY on Sunday and out somewhere on Monday. I hope you all have a nice weekend and will be thinking of you on Tuesday Charly xx
Take care all
