Lovely finish Charly  :) Hope your pooch is now fully well again.
nmm - all good wishes to OH as he continues his treatment xx
I have finished one hat - had to add a charcoal grey stripe as didn't have enough green for a whole hat. Went to local CS today to buy more dark green wool so am sorted for a little while. Once I got the hang of the pattern it was fine!
No stitching done as have watched two films this week. Monday watched World's End (on TV) and last night we went to see Be!fast at the cinema. Can highly recommend and the little boy playing the lead was amazing.
DS2 is 18 on Saturday so we are preparing for a family lunch out (15 of us). I need to get (less than eco) helium balloons tomorrow plus some cake boxes or bags for everyone to take a cupcake home with them. IL's are coming round in the late afternoon - we didn't invite them after MILs insults at Christmas. Might have to have a stiff drink before they come lol!
    Hope your all doing okay.

Hello lovelies - how is everyone doing?
I've been quiet on here because I haven't managed to do much crafting this last week. Work has gone bonkers again and I've been asked to pick up work for another admin who isn't coping - this in addition to all my work. I was a bit harsh (insert other word here) with boss on Friday, telling her it's not nice being pimped out whenever someone else is being carp. It's not flattering, it's stressful. She got it! We now have to go in one day a week minimum, so my day will be a Thursday. That's fine, as I'll be able to plan home around that.
DS1's 18th meal was good. Lovely to see everyone but some of the food and service wasn't great. I sent an email with feedback but venue have rebuffed everything I mentioned including telling me I should also have pre-ordered drinks?! Errrr okaaaaaay.
This week I went to see Groundhog Day at the cinema - on Feb 2nd! First time I had seen it - yes really. I have also managed to do the body of a second knitted hat. Need to start shaping the top now by reducing stitches on each row. Others in the group have said the CS wool I bought (branded) isn't the best quality and splits. I only paid £1.49/100g for it, but will see how it goes - could always donate it back I guess?!
No stitching done this week - I would like to get back to it this week if possible.
How's everyone else doing? Hope nmm's OH is doing okay with his treatment. How's everything with you Charly?
    Take care all,
    Coxy xx

Hi ladies, sorry not posted recently, all is fine here OH has 1 more lot of chemo to go, he's feeling ok a few niggly side effects but we're getting through it. On the crafting front we're making great progress on our granny squares almost 200 already i think, i also made a couple of bobble sheep for a lady at the group she totally loves them, they are replicas of her own 2 sheep, going to make some animals for the other ladies. Did some cross stitch but not in the past week or so i'll post an update photo, my crochet top has halted for now as i realised i don't have enough wool to finish it, grrr. I did a few random butterfly drops 2 have been found already, haha its so much fun.

Coxy, sorry work is treating you like that, no need at all and that the birthday meal was below par, so disappointing. I look forward to more JoGLE updates, if you need some cheap wool i recommend marriner yarns.

Charly, lovely 80th card, hope you're ok too :)

    Hi lovelies,
Long time no posting on here.
Glad that OH is getting through his treatment okay nmm. I love the little sheep - so cute.
I have made 3 knitted hats and have started a 4th. Also did a little cross stitching last night as DH finished work a bit later (wfh) so I managed a bit of stitching before dinner.
I've managed to plan the next stage of our walk - DSis and I are returning to Scotland on 1 April and will walk the Great Glen Way and the West Highland Way. I've booked bunkhouses and BnBs this time, which means less weight to carry (no tent, rollmat, cooking equipment) and a decent nights' sleep may hopefully make the difference to our travels.
DSis was out with DDad last week and he's doing really well. I'm going out first week of March.
Hope you're all staying safe and well. This weather is atrocious - hope the boat is nice and toasty nmm.

Hi all goodness what happened to the beginning of 2022? Time seems to be speeding up. So pleased OH is moving through the chemo Nmm. How cute are those little sheep. I’ve discovered one of our local animal charities was requesting knitted chicks to cover those chocolate creme filled eggs and was tempted to get my needles out.
Coxy great news about DD and also re the walking. You are going to have a busy start to spring.
I have been slowly stitching the first ‘how does your garden grow’ SAL. I have two mushrooms to stitch and I’ll post an update. I love the colours but I don’t like the SAL concept, makes me feel slightly panicky about keeping up so I don’t think I’d do another.
Have family down for the weekend to celebrate DM’s birthday which was at end of January. Means we’ve been making house guest ready during half term. I’ve nearly got my sewing room back and we picked up 4 SH chairs from FB marketplace for £20 yesterday. These have metal legs so should be dog teeth proof!

Lovely update charly, i tried a crochet blanket CAL once, it got finished well after the CAL had ended, don't stress too much about it :)

Coxy, very toasty, haha bit blowy last night and today but not so bad in the boat. Good call on the accomodation, hopefully your dsis feet will be better this time.

Not done any cross stitch since last update, i've made a few more animals for my K&N ladies, a horse that looks like a donkey, a cat and a ladybird, still a tortoise and a sheep to do. It really makes them happy and i get to use up my stash, so win-win.

    Morning all,

Lovely update Charly - I think I'd be too stressed about a CAL of any description - the pressure!
Great to be using up stash and making people happy nmm! Also glad that the boat is nice and cosy. Stay safe!

I had a message on Saturday morning from the church administrator - please come and clear the craft group cupboard! You may remember that a few years ago I set up a monthly craft group (any crafts) and it ran for about a year, but some months it was only me and one other or people would turn up without the £2 subs etc. I changed the day to accommodate some members, but still it limped on. Then the minister of the church really hacked me off so I stopped doing it. Apparently there was crafting stash left, so I went down with the car and bought it all home. Massive plastic box of card blanks, large box of stampers, oddments of wool etc. However the main discovery was a huge amount of embroidery threads (mainly Anchor) on bobbins/in little drawers (c.200 skeins) plus an unfinished cross stitch on a frame. Also knitted squares (x 30) plus lots of needles. I found a note from a lady saying it had been her daughters' things (daughter had died several years ago) and would the church like it? Well it was a very weird hour or so sorting through. I've kept some embroidery threads (she had around 25 DMC brand new) but the majority will go to the charity shop. Some things went in the bin as random unfinished bits. Wool and knitting needles to the CS. I spent a few hours last night winding the DMC threads onto bobbins and putting away in my storage boxes. Felt a bit bad, but I didn't know those involved and hopefully the CS will make some money from the majority of it all.

    Take care everyone,
    Coxy xx

    Morning all,

Bright and sunny here. I have just done the food shop using DS2's little car as DH is away in Wales and took ours. First annoying thing was we keep a £1 coin in the car for the trolley, so I had to go in and buy something from my list to get change. Then when I was paying I couldn't find my card, really awful feeling, so paid using cash card. Cancelled the card after a through look through my bag only to find it under the food in the trolley?! Seriously think I'm losing the plot.

Took 4 x bags of the haberdashery stash to CS on Friday. Also dropped off large box of card making supplies to a friend yesterday. Dining room now clear of other people's carp.

I have a slight headache coming on so will now go for a walk and hope to do some cross stitching later. Will be taking it to DDad's next Sunday, so would hope to make some progress there too.

Hope you've all had a good week?

Hi ladies, glad you got rid of it all coxy, nothing worse than others peoples stuff that you really don't want. No cross stitch here either, a few bits of crochet but nothing much. Weather has been pretty rubbish last week or so hoping spring shows up soon :) Hope you're ok charly.

    Speak soon, take care x
