    Morning all,

WFH today after 3 consecutive days in the office - well there was a weekend in-between but you get my drift... We had a major IT upgrade on Thursday and I was one of the IT champs for our department, so spent most of the day signposting staff and trying to get them on line. Absolutely exhausting! Went to see DD in Brighton at the weekend and bought a couple of Christmas gifts at the market there. Also partook in some mulled wine mmmmm! Saw DMum and DSis, BIL at a Christmas Fayre on Sunday.

The crocheting is still continuing - it's a good pattern that I can do whilst watching TV luckily. It's the fortnightly craft session at work this lunchtime, so depending how I feel, I might join in! I have completed half my card design too so that's on track to send next week. I will PM you all later today with details of who to send to. AFAIK there are no Royal Mail strikes planned for w/c 5 December, so please send your card during that week if possible. If not possible please don't stress, just get to a postbox when you can.

In sofa news....we have chosen a new range but there's a price difference of £550 which I don't feel I should have to pay given it's not my fault they have the wrong info/photo on their website. Have now spoken to M&S 3 times in the last week and no one can give me any confirmation that the new sofas are on order or that we don't have to pay any extra. Have just come off another phone call with Customer Services and said I want to know what's happening today or I will go to the press! Watch this space....

coxy, i hope you went to the craft session today, sofa saga sounds frustrating. I'll post the card asap, waiting for an item from royal mail, assumed collection yesterday for delivery today(tracked 24) but no sign of it.

I've had a nightmare today anything that could go wrong went wrong, start with my profile not signing in after upgrading to win11, to a new gas bottle being out of gas in 2 days, normally lasts 6-8 weeks, to lastly ripping teeth off my jacket zip, so i can't fasten it now. Happier news i joined Parkrun, completed 2 now only able to walk/jog but it's a start.

Hi Coxy and Nmm. Wonder what’s happening in the heavens, sounds like frustrations and annoyance all round.
I can post card soon as it’s ready to go was just waiting address which I now have thanks.
My DS works for M & S but sadly (or thankfully) in food. Hope you made some progress on the phone.
Can’t believe we’re nearly at the end of another year in the cafe!

Turned HDYGG into a wall-hanging. Quite pleased with how it turned out. Back to stitching HSC Cactus now and trying mightily to resist getting sucked into purchasing another SAL starting in January.
I have enough, at the last count I have 7 patterns or kits to stitch and my lovely books to inspire!

Lovely ta-dah @Charly27 and ONLY 7 kits/patterns - wow mine run into double figures lol! I need to clone myself or retire or both!

Still no news from M&S - tweeted them and had a private response where they said on Wednesday someone would call me...still waiting.....

Hope everyone's cards are progressing well. Postal strike today and I have a Bay of E sale to post off but will have to wait until tomorrow. DH and I are off work on Monday, will visit DNephew's grave as would have been his birthday on 7th, and then hit the big shopping mall. M&S are doing an advent countdown on the app and I won a free Percy tree decoration yesterday, so will pop in and claim that on Monday. Today I have 15% off their Bailey's lookilikey range.

I have now completed 100 rows of the crocheted blanket. Did 2 rows at the work session which felt very indulgent. They are a nice bunch and mostly knitters with one lady doing a Christmas cross stitch. I have been encouraged to try knitting socks! We shall see - just not enough hours in the day right now :(

Looking forward to seeing the card photos :)

Feeling less guilty for buying three new kits to add to the twoni already have after reading your posts 🤣 I still haven't finished the backstitch on the freet wave, I need to add in loads of French knots and I need more practise either them as my attempts so far have been rubbish! So I started a new kit, nice and easy as all the others I have are pretty complex.

My card needs finishing, but it will be ready to post in the next few days. Hope it won't take too long to arrive, but with the postal strikes who knows. I am waiting on things that should have already arrived.

Thanks Coxy and Drawingaline for the compliments on my TaDa & the reassurance that I’m not as weird as I thought. Do bare in mind I counted ONLY cross stitch! Retirement is constantly on my mind or FI (just reading Your Money or your Life -2018 update) but also I didn’t enjoy the pressure of a SAL. Didn’t need to feel ‘behind’. Haven’t ruled out buying it at a later date. Drawingaline I loathe French knots and often stitch a seed bead instead as a work around.

M&S sounding like publicity might be an attractive option.

My card finished and in the post so I could use my last second class stamp! Hope the recipient likes it whenever it arrives  :D

    Blanket progress sounds great

Thinking of you as you and DH remember your dear nephew.

I posted my card on Friday by 1st class, i know not very MSE but with the current issues i just want it to arrive quickly, can't wait for card photos. Currently working on a Noel hanger, not my sort of thing so i'll gift it to a friend who is christmas mad.
