4/40 matinee jacket pretty much finished, just need to sew buttons on which I’m planning to do tonight. Will take pics of that and hats if I have a chance tonight.
Othrr than that I need to get on with a jumper that I’m knitting for my mum and want to finish tracing out a pattern onto Swedish tracing paper so I can get making that so will see what I can do with both of these over the next few days as am still on annual leave until the end of the week.B x1 -
nmm said:Charly, have you checked your local library? the 2 groups i attend are based at them.
Betharooni, are your hats for a special reason, sorry if i missed it.
For the newer members, our christmas card exchange is when we make a card for the person we are given, we generally post them in the 1st week of December, no photos in the thread as the recipient does thatIt's a brilliant fun tradition that we've been doing for years.

Nearly there, switched to a hoop to finish it off. Back in north Wales with my mum so should have some opportunities to stitch whilst I’m here. Hope to have a TaDa before the week is out!‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. Charly, yep sadly most groups are during the day, i hope you find one to attend. You've made quick work of your current project, looks great so far.
Drawingaline, wow, love it, it looks 3D, what project is next?
We made £240 at our sale on the weekend which was great, now to focus on cross stitch cards and to finish my WIP.
Take care, speak soon.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -
Hi all!
I actually started DS2's Attic24 Harbour blanket last night. Did the chain row and first two rows of colour in Lapis (dark blue). DH was working at home until about 9pm so I was all snug, crocheting and watching Autumnwatch. It's 206 stitches per row, so not a quick project, but very methodical. Have now changed to Turquoise and will continue tonight. Not sure this will be done for Christmas as it's 168 rows....
Well done @Betharooni on your matinee jackets and the sweater. Photos please!
Great (almost) finish @Drawingaline - please post a ta-dah photo once the BABS is complete!
Love the design for your colleague @Charly27 the colours are amazing x
Congrats on the charity proceeds from your sale day @nmm, that's amazing xx
Although the decorating is finished, carpets and flooring is down, we still need to accessorise and finish painting the furniture. This weekend we plan to finish painting the wardrobe doors and drawers plus bedside cabinets for our bedroom. We managed to find 12 identical ceramic handles in TKMaxx. Next will be the spare room wardrobe and tallboy doors and drawers but I'm still searching for the right handles. They will turn up eventually!
Hope you all have a great day and if anyone is lurking and wants to join the Christmas Card Exchange, please let me know by midnight on Monday 31 October

Morning!
Change of plan at the weekend as DMum had a fall and her face/head took the brunt, so spent most of Saturday at A&E then brought her home for observation. She's okay, a bit shaken up, bruised temple and split lip. Needs to take potassium tablets and eat/drink more. Hoping it's not the 'start of something' but we shall see.
DH managed to paint some of the furniture and tidy the garden whilst I was being nursey. Still loads to do but no rush to get it done.
In crafting news, I've now completed 6 different colour rows of the Harbour blanket. I've also adapted a cotton jumper that I knitted years ago (at my knit & knatter, so at least 7 years ago). It's cotton and I had to use 2 balls of yarn at the same time, so it was quite challenging. Once made I realised it was a boxy style that sat on the waist and I needed to wear a longer tshirt underneath to cover my bottom(!) so I've rarely worn it. After sorting through wardrobes and drawers I found it again and decided to crochet a border on the bottom - finished that last night so just need to sew in the ends and block it. Hopefully means I'll wear it now! I also have a dress (found in CS for £5 at the weekend) and a top that both need an inch of seam sewing up. May do that tonight.
So, for the Christmas Card Exchange we have:
me, nmm, Charly27, Wraithlady and drawingaline.
I will PM you all separately to get your addresses and let you know who to send to. Excited to be continuing this tradition again this year
Have a good day all,

Coxy, sorry to hear your mum had a fall, hope she is on the mend now. I love attic 24 blankets they are so easy to get into, to complete it by christmas you need to do a minimum 4 rows a day, allowing for the border too, haha.
I've picked my design for the card exchange and sorted the threads, now to start stitching it
Take care, Nicola.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -
Coxy I’m adding my commiserations to those of Nmm re your mum. Must have shaken her up I expect in addition to her physical injuries. Will look forward to finding out who I’m stitching for. I too have have chosen my design and ready to sort out the threads now. I’ll update you on my 22 in 2022 list soon which looks a bit feeble, but hey couple of diversions this year! One of those was to crochet - anything as I’m always inspired by Attic 24’s colour combos.
NUTDYM update (backed in owl fabric) followed by SAL update (backed in aqua patterned fabric). Both almost turned into wall hangings following this tutorial https://youtu.be/nUR9yE1k2NA just waiting for a couple of dowels and some weighted cotton.
