Checked PBs. No luck this month. Ah well.
I've spent all morning procrastinating. Enough is enough.- Set up a spread sheet where each document can be actioned. Spend a minimum of 2 hours doing this
- Make a list for surveyor
- Clear all filing
- Check all bank statements
- Ask for sign off help
- Move viewing appointment by an hour to reduce stress
Waiting to speak to surveyor for the last time.
Not sure I need sign off help as I seem to be ok
Chased solicitor for forms
Hoping to exchange this week...then hopefully my system will calm down
Will take a walk to buy some B's flower remedy (mostly psychological I'm sure but if it works I don't care)

Great progress on that to do list. No luck for me with PBs either. Hope the flower remedy helps."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

Sailing against the flow here but I would expect you to be expected to complete very quickly (days, not weeks) after exchange given the lack of chain, and I would also expect the random unplanned things you have to buy to go up in the short term once you are in. I would be focussing my savings and spending and efforts on being in the new place if I could, not on going away and the inevitable spending involved IF it was optional. I appreciate it may not be.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I'm going to have a gap in-between EoC and completion but only a week. All on one day feels more stressful and I'm trying to reduce stress wherever I can!

I've not exchanged yet so still feeling a tiny bit apprehensive but everything bodes well.

I appreciate it may not be.The plan is EoC this coming week and completion the following week. This ties in with availability of people who will be supporting me plus availability of removals. I did go away for a week because I was very edgy and desperately needed it. I am being super frugal and living on mainly YS items and food I brought with me. I probably spend less than I would at home as there are no everyday travel costs and I am not popping out for coffees and treats...I have saved an additional £1000 fund for unexpected costs and removals outside of my emergency fund, so I should be ok...

Sounds sensible to me DIA. I think there are many MSEers holding our collective breath ready to celebrate with you as you move into the next phase. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I am away on my little break. I have kept costs very low. I'm not having coffees and cakes out. I'm not even bothered about chocolate or wine. I'm shopping YS and keeping food costs low. I did treat myself to a Saturday paper. I've been into the lovely CSs around here but so far spending has been low (3.50)
I'm still a bit edgy. I did my final viewing prior to exchange. I took the relative I currently live with, with me and they loved the house. We measured the windows. Every appliance worked and I had a chance to even test the boiler. I couldn't get the dishwasher going, but I'll sort that once in. There are a few things that still need doing but nothing that can't wait. I plan to move in and get a feel of the house and do nothing to it at all unless something has to be done...
The draft contract has been sent off and exchange should be this coming week with completion the following week. I'm ok with that.
I'm starting to believe it will happen at last.
Where I am is restful, quiet and a reminder of what it will be like to have a house to myself again.
The horrible chest infection that hung around for a while has gone at last.
I hope everyone is well.
