Thanks @Sun_Addict
Yes, it is mega frustrating. I could cry with frustration, but it won't get me anywhere, and I need to keep my head up and keep going, or I risk being in limbo for even longer.
Thanks @beanielou @jwil and @MovingForwards and @savingholmes for the commiserations
Thanks @mark55manI'm glad you too appreciate mental health coffees...
Thanks @Skint_yet_Again the garden-less one has a balcony I could gasp fresh air through with a pot plant until I work out a roof terrace... I know what you mean about planning permission etc...Thanks @WelshmansDaughterI went to an open gardens years ago and saw a roof garden on a similar shaped house so it will be interesting to see if it is viable, or if anyone else on the street has one...
I had a lovely day out with a friend. Quite spendy, no regrets.
I became aware this weekend that house hunting without succeeding is taking years of my life, so I need to enjoy my life at the same time.
I am going to plan a holiday. It will give me something nice to focus on.
I did overspend but I had the buffer zone so everything has been managed without touching savings. That said I have drained the buffer zone that will need rebuilding...
At this time of the month my thoughts turn to PBs. Just checked and results are out on Tuesday. Sometimes I think PBs are worth it just for the hope of a win. Haha. I had a minuscule win last month so it needs to be better!
Today the sunshine is glorious and according to my blood tests my Vit D is low so I've been for 2 walks already to rectify this
Off to catch up on diaries
Edited to add I bought my F&V box first thing..From memory... (2 courgettes, punnet blackberries, punnet of cherries, bag of satsumas, 3 large oranges, 3 tomatoes,(a bit squashy/fine for soup) fine green beans, 2 onions, 2 packs of 4 big field mushrooms, 1 cauliflower, 1 large lemon, 1 kiwi,) A very good quality box of F&V.
Plan is a soup a day all week. Today's is courgette, coriander, potato and chard with white miso. Some leftover feta as a sprinkle on top. Came out lovely

Another good haul in the veg box! I've only managed to get one once.
Good idea to have a holiday. I always spend the last few days of the month dreaming of what I'll do with my big PB win"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
It does consume life looking for somewhere.
We all dream about a big PB win!
Where you thinking for the holiday?
Your F&V box was fantastic and some great soups made from it.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
I think the holiday idea is a good one. Better than feeling on a circling pattern constantly waiting to land.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

My holiday plans were knocked off the schedule!savingholmes said:I think the holiday idea is a good one. Better than feeling on a circling pattern constantly waiting to land.I've been too busy to plan hols and events have taken over on that front
So, firstly I think I can have the cottage in the country for a few weeks so that will be my holiday at the end of the month. I need it and it is mates rates so affordable. I can take a bus to the coast so will use it as a base for days out. Longer term I would like a holiday abroad but may need to wait until I know more about my operation that should be this year sometime...
On the subject of homes. I viewed two and neither was right for different reasons, so I am no further except I discovered a few new roads that are possibilities. It was a very tiring, expensive trip. I feel like I went hunting and returned empty handed!
I'm embarrassed to say how much was spent on snacks, drinks, and food. It's different when the food is lovely and a treat but it wasn't. I ate badly. Lots of sugar and processed nonsense. But back on track in the morning...
I had zero for PBs and a tiny win last month so need to rethink and move things around a bit. I don't have a current ISA so that might make more sense as it is guaranteed and there is no interest to pay.
Off to check other diaries

Cottage holiday will be refreshing.
Sorry the viewings left you empty handed and food dissatisfied.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Good you found some new roads to look .
perhaps a review of the area/criteria could open up more opportunities2 -

I'm going back to see 2 other houses but this time I will be going early and coming back late. That way I take food and drink and just have coffees. It will be tiring but cheaper. Also, spreading out the viewings this time. Less rushingWelshmansDaughter said:Good you found some new roads to look .

So, today I have eaten 50 grams of chocolate and a piece of cakeother than that I ate healthily so getting back on track
I have arranged for a few more viewings for next week Saturday. I am not restricted by peak/off-peak on a Saturday so can go very early. I will take a good packed lunch and drinks. I will treat myself to breakfast and a coffee out. This will cost a quarter of the spends of my last trip.
On other financials, I have increased my weekly spends by £25 as I am constantly running short.
I am in talks to get a small flat. It is through a friend and it would be mates rates. It might not happen as the friend's partner may not ok it. However, if it goes ahead, it is local and local is expensive to start with. It would mean I would have to be exceptionally frugal but I think I could just about do it. Thanks to this space for equipping me with the skills to do this! My savings would be halved. I can't help thinking it would be worth it to protect my wellbeing and mental health. MY OWN SPACE. Just the thought of it excites me. I will have to see how this plays out.
I am waiting to hear if the cottage is ok for my break. I've been told it is 90% but it needs running past someone first. If I book now I can get it very cheap tickets. Tempting...
I hope everyone is ok and had a good enough day
