Good morning all, can I please share my to do list for Tuesday when I go back to work:
00) Write up my turtle commitments. Mainly - look after my family and do my job, in style. 1/a few.
1) summarise 3 interviews: One started will need editing 0.5/3
2) Do draft feedback for 3 presentations from before Christmas - 0/3
3) Clean and put glass back in ancestor portrait frame that broke last week. Frame is glued, but pastel drawing and backing needs resetting into frame.
4) Empty a cabinet in ds2's room, still full of ds1's stuff.
5) Vacuum house
6) Apply for carers grant, possibly a carers stipend
7) Get all beds changed and washed.
8) Not get stressed over clashing priorities.
A lot of these are reasons why I had to get my laptop and will pay for my laptop!
And do my writing, did not manage that this morning as did the paid work. Am now off to flatpack shop to look for gift for ds1, have not bouthg their mein gifts yet, as everything seems to be sold out.
- gift approved, now just need ordering.

Good morning Turtles and Happy New Year as I didn’t pop by yesterday
I’ve had 1 NSD so far because I didn’t leave the house.
Today I start my mindful eating. Whatever OH and DS1 don’t finish today will be binned. We’ve a box of mince pies for pudding and that will be it. In fairness most has been eaten or sent elsewhere so not much waste but whereas before I would have eaten the leftovers I’m determined to stop treating my body as a waste bin.
I will venture out later in search of milk and bread which shouldn’t be a chore as the weather looks lovely.
Also I plan to put the Xmas decs away, we only have a small flat and they are lovely while they are up but take up space and DS2 and granddog are visiting later.
I’m also back at work tomorrow so I’m getting the washing up to date. Not very exciting but needs to be done.
So today I’m grateful for blue sky, for my lovely family and for plenty of food still in my cupboards so the money this month can go elsewhere.
Have a lovely day guys🎄December 🎄 NSDs 11/1510 -
I should at least be recording my little wins. Yesterday I was trying to submit the meter readings I'd asked DS3 to do. Reset the password on my account so I have access. I am several hundred pounds in credit so more than halved my current dd. I know costs are going up but even with heavy use in January and February, the lower dd will let me cruise as far as Summer (we'll see if that's the beginning or end) and I need money in my current account rather than in the energy company's coffers.
I read the last post on the decluttering thread and I received 19 Gold Stars and 9 medals throughout the year, plus 1 medal each for tip guy, DS2 and gf, DS3 and Beloved. It's good to see, because it was constant plodding, clearing one bucket of soil at a time (levelling) and then putting raised beds together and filling them (that was just the garden) and much more inside and at times I seemed to be making little or know progress.
Couldn't get through to the hospital (engaged during the day, ringing but then cutting off whilst I was on hold late into the evening). I slept well (lots of dozing during the day as well) and was awake at 6 am when I had my pills and a wash. At 6.15 am I saved the house from burning to the ground. That's a little overdramatic but you told us to don our capes this month apple and feeling heroic is a good way to get through.
I was I the bathroom and thought someone had set a fire on the carpark (bonfire night 2020 one of the cars in the private car park set on fire - probably from a stray firework). Then I realised it was a reflection and looked the other way. DS3 and Beloved were both asleep and the candle in a tin on the desk was swirling and the flame was about 9" high. Couldn't see the lid so looked around and used one of the lids off the tea caddies I bought her, bringing it straight down and then leaving it (so it didn't burst into flames again).
I had thought I might try walking to mum's using the trolley. I think I'm supposed to be in strict isolation but I was worried about the washing in the machine and whether the milkman had got my phone message, cancelling the milk for the next week. I could also use the landline to phone the hospital, rather than waiting until Beloved wakes up. I thought as it was Sunday (and a lot of people will still be nursing post celebration hangovers/ finishing off the booze in the house) I wasn't likely to meet anyone on the way.
Anyway tiredness overtook me and I've slept for another 4 hours. All I want to do is stay in here quietly, sleep and rest with a brief foray downstairs for food and drink (finished the last of the cheese triangles and a box of raspberries). One rubbish bag went out, one can bag is full, they have another in their room. I did one cleaning task. It's pointless to rehash all the 'what happens next' scenarios so I'm not going to, resting will help me deal with whatever situation arises. I would like to get through to the hospital but am expecting only to be told that she is comfortable and if there were bad news, they would contact me.
Think I'm going to doze off again. have a good day turtles.
Grateful for my mum, the support of my family (DS1 is talking to my again and the ex messaged yesterday), easy food (think I only have apples left up here). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11 -
You are so right to try and rest and relax, mothernerd. And, yes, the hospital would be in touch if there were a change. Though, in your place, I'm sure I'd also be trying to contact them too! Take care x

Mothernerd if there is no credit on your phone ,will it accept incoming calls?I haven’t bee PAYG for years and can’t remember ,don’t want to worry you unnecessarily, but wanted to check10

Yes incoming calls not a problem, even if no credit.10

Yes, incoming calls are fine. I'm hoping that tomorrow the £20 free credit pops up on there. I did a £10 top up on Friday at 4 am and my messages said if I topped up before 3/1 I would get a credit - I have money in the bank (transferred by DS3 but think it is the usual weekend + BH stuff that it has not gone through. Just had a phone call from test and trace, so have passed on details, explained mum has been admitted to hospital and gave them the details for mummy of twins so they can tell Ms 'I've just done a test' that she needs to be in strict isolation, not waltzing about passing stuff onto other people just because she's asymptomatic so far.
Looks like I'm not going to sleep so will hobble downstairs to get some water (maybe ask them to bring me some tap water up later - I have 2 empty 2l bottles), throw some veg in the oven/ stove (lamb stew with the last pack of lamb) and if I'm still okay check on the washing machine and dishwasher (maybe I shouldn't do that -ask them to do it on the off chance I have been infected with COVID and therefore should not handle their cutlery/ crockery).
Grateful for being in my own bed in my own room (car park is quiet so no people watching and the birds must have settled who's going to nest in which tree), 4 new books (Thursday Murder Club for now) and a netflicks series (redemption, very good but only when I'm in the mood for it)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage12 -
NSD 2 - all food from stores (I even made bread rolls!!), took a boot-full of stuff to the recycling centre and was home again, drinking coffee before 9am.My hallway is now totally clear, and got DS1 to hoover the living room and hall as he is perfectly capable, and not an ornamentCleaned some of the kitchen, but got very very bored after putting away the third load of washing up (small drainer) so I have decided for the rest of the day I am going to sit on my bum and read utter trash (the washing machine is on though, so really I am doing laundry)Hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows may be deployed after supper if I can be faffed. Not promising anything.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I’ve been decluttering and hv managed 2/nsd’s these combined with actually posting on here are a good start to 2022 for me. We have been eating out of the cupboards since Christmas topped up with the £7.50 food bag from our local food wastage scheme. This takes some meal planning but lm trying. Going to start the 1p challenge and see how l go on saving for Christmas 2022. Enjoy what’s left of Today xxCount down to retirement 202310

Evening turtles.
A bit gutted to be reporting a spend day already on the second of the month. But I have a sickly old lady cat that needs one particular type of cat food, and my z00plus order from 21 Dec still hasn't arrived, and her 'non puke' cat food has all been used. So it was a bit of an emergency... I had an appointment booked at the tip (sorry, recycling centre) at lunchtime so combined that with a visit to h0me b@rg@ins for some more non-puke cat food and while I was there I also stocked up on vitamins, painkillers and face masks (as they're going to be needed in class from next week). I spent just over £30 but £20 of that was on the cat food. She should have enough for the rest of the month now and hopefully that z00plus order will turn up on Tuesday.
I get a lot of pleasure out of taking stuff to the recycling centre - it's always relaxing throwing rubbish into massive skips and knowing it's not in the house or garden any more.
Before I went out and after I came back I spent my time doing academic work. I'm up to date with that now so can enjoy the last bit of my hols before school starts again next week. Thank goodness. I also have prepared enough gammon and roast potatoes to ensure we have plenty of leftovers and dd loves my home made coleslaw so I've made another batch of that for us. I've meal planned the week ahead as far as I can, done a load of washing and hoovered right through.
I feel more positive mood-wise today than I have done in months. Long may it last.
Mothernerd, I'm thinking of you lots. Not giving up
