NSD 1 today.
Grateful for:
Being in contact with brother and sister.
Seeing a robin in park whilst on my walk this morning.
Using up a few Christmas food/drink items.
Having a chilled out day.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20137 -
Quiet day - most of the Xmas decs have been packed away - just the last 2 big trees to un-decorate and take down - will leave that until tomorrow now. Went for a short walk to get some fresh air but still only at 9k steps, so will pootle around a bit more to get to 10K.
5 boxes of books/ dvds are leaving the house this week to selling sitesand a few others have been added to the charity bag, ready for donating when it's full. Only things bought in the sales has been some plain gift tags for Xmas 2022 - although I would like some more Xmas cards too, if I see any nice ones (although I'd need to go to a shop other than Mr T in that case!)
Still eating leftovers/ Xmas goodies. I am making 'normal' food tomorrow - although I will not be doing a roast dinner, as we have had roast leftovers in one form or another for much of this past weekI am hoping that I can DH away from buying random food items (he gets bored....) and concentrate on using some things up - just buying milk, f&v and a couple of things for lunchboxes. Ooh - a bday cake for DS2 (I buy all bday cakes - my kids eat enough of my baking at other times )
Thankful for: mild & dry weather (means taking down all the outside lights was much more pleasant!), getting most of Xmas things packed away, leftovers being eaten up!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £2010 -
Happy new year everyone
I've had a quiet day. I did my 10k steps, had a walk by the river, was so mild i didn't need a coat! Have not spent any money. Have put away some decorations but the tree is still up and lots of twinkly lights too. Had a chat to a friend. Almost fell asleep on the sofa during Dr Who so off to bed soon zzzzLBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

I am here and I have plans - just they are scattered lists and half lists atm. No money spent today - aiming for many more of them possibly a no spend month but life is very fluid for now. Mad one trip downstairs for drinks, food and a roll of bin bags but only done the rubbish and cans so far.
Spent the afternoon holding on for test and trace, hoping they could stop sending texts to my phone for mum, asking why she hasn't filed her test results online and haven't been able to get through to the hospital since last night - engaged every time I tried today (multiple times at once). Was ringing this evening (roughly 7 pm, when I woke from my nap) but cut out several times. Will try again in the middle of the night when things should be quieter.
I'll just curl up on the chaise longue and have another nap or two. I'm clutching a handful of notebooks in case inspiration strikes - otherwise it'll be plodding and sifting through mounds of ideas and dividing the stuff into lists.
Grateful for the dragons and Yorkshire WI series (finished the last of them this afternoon, netflicks and easy food (cheese triangles atm - been in my fridge at mum's for a while, bb 27 December), ate couple of chicken bakes, an expensive blueberry yoghurt bought from the reduced shelf for 29p and a chocolate orange (lasted several hours) at various points during the day and finished off the old grapes. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
FamilyOfSix its always a tradition here to go out the back door and in the front on the first stroke of midnight and even better if it’s a dark haired male letting out the old year and the new one in. Hopefully my daughter will continue this tradition xCount down to retirement 20239
