Can I join please, apple? Lots to do, another whole new life awaiting. Still a bit 'between' - sleeping and spending mot of my time at my house but still lots at mum's.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
Just be you. There is no need for you to fit in to the ‘norm’. What do you want more of? And less of? Take a look at your own needs and look after yourself first. Eat well. Move enough. Get the sleep your body needs. - I want less 'stuff' cluttering my life. More sleep - need to get the balance correct when at work - but this is a learning curve for me right now. Need more movement and will nourish my body with good foods - although I am not committing to that 100% until 10th Jan - have DS2's bday and Xmas things to eat up before then.
Always set budgets and give yourself some guilt-free treat money. Avoid as many chain stores and coffee shops and corner shops and online purchases as possible. Alert yourself to what triggers impulse buys, especially with the sales coming at us full force. - hmmm... I am guilty of not really setting budgets as such - although I am very good at shoving lots of money into various pots and savings accounts at payday. Purchases - DS2's bday requires some purchases and I have my eye on a some stationery things on Amazoon for work (should be able to reclaim some of them, but some are a little frivolous in work's eyes but make the office feel better for me) Sales - not really an issue, as I loathe shopping in general (unless it's food!)
Never stop loving yourself. You are unique and uniquely gifted. NSDs = 16 please. Identify your needs v your wants. With rising prices and the cost of simply being alive shooting up, take stock of where your money goes and write down every single spend. = guilty of not tracking all spends, as DH has money that mysteriously disappears.......
Use it up or pass it on. - I have identified some larger items to sell. Have a bag filling up for CS. Need to tackle household filing/ admin. Have lots of toiletries and cleaning products to use up
Set targets both small and large. And look at them weekly and tweak them as necessary. Step outside and get some fresh air every day. I aim to get back into walking - although January weather is not usually appealing. Have weight loss target in Jan in mind. And food target.
As always, the naughty chaise longue is ready for those who need a sit down. It currently has twinkly lights on it. - love twinkly lights!
I am taking January easy - not going at anything too hard or too fast, as that is how I don't succeed. Going for more of a slow and steady approach to all things.
I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul
I long ago gave up being anything but me. I hit the big 60 this year and life is for living, no longer putting things off. We’re by no means well off, but determined to live life to the full. We need to eat better and get fitter, and I’ve got loads of food in so will be running down my stocks so this will be a target for this month. OH bought an organiser to go on the fridge so we can meal plan easier. Another is to walk as much as possible. I used to walk to work and back but have slipped into using the tram. At £2.10 each way it’s adding up and money I could spend elsewhere. Also I know when I need to lose weight when my back, ankles and knees complain. So I’m planning to manage on as little as possible, luckily I will just need one birthday card this month.
The weather is also going to be mild over the next few days which means less heat needed.
So in general January is going to be healthy, frugal as I mean to go on for the rest of the year. Good luck turtles
