Yesterday was meant to be a NSD but bunny needed to go to the vet unexpectedly, she has a respiratory infection bless her. £90 down
I used the credit card as she might need another visit and I can claim off the insurance, so we'll wait and see what happens.
Today was also meant to be a NSD but I was driving and had to swerve to avoid someone who drifted onto my side of the road and just hit the curb a bit, damaged my wheel a little bit (fixable) but took a massive chunk out of my tyre. Luckily I needed a new one anyway as per my MOT (I actually needed 3 altogether) and I was also round the corner from a tyre shop. Got all 3 changed as I was there, £200 all in. Again used the cc, I have money in savings but am just waiting to confirm a start date for my new job so want to keep that just in case there's a break between jobs. Will pay it off once confirmed. At least I've got my advisories sorted and don't have to worry, and at least it was low speed so the tyre didn't burst or anything. Just need to repair the wheel but that's cosmetic, not urgent at all.
Nothing much else to report, ticking along quietly just counting down the days until I finish work! Hoping today will finally be a NSD and no more unexpected expenses.12 -
Hugs Mothernerd try and take it easy when you can.
lcc hope bunny is better soon.
Today actually worked my socks off unlike yesterday when I just couldn't be bothered. Felt actually good to use my brain today. and seeing handover meeting with Accountant next week. Still feel sad 19 yrs in a job going to be strange starting somewhere new. Redundancy payment will cheer me up put into savings towards surviving on a state pension in 5 years time,
Decided I needed a walk at lunchtime and was craving mushroom omelette for tea. Spent on some mushrooms also got YS biscuit box and some YS mint choc biscuits at 20p a pack. Ace for treats with gkids after a walk.
Needed petrol after work. 9k steps today walked to friends house, few gins before tea and a laugh perfect.
Grateful for
New dressing gown so soft
Cider
Seeing a lovely xmas decorated garden so cute made me smile, probably be gone by tomorrow.

mothernerd - Sorry to hear the sad news about your Mum. Sending hugs.
On NSD 4 today. Yesterday I dealt with some of the things that I had to do this month, eg paying full amount of the annual service charge for the flat, annual pre paid prescription certificate.
Grateful for:
Dealt with 2 things that I had put down on my to do list for Friday.
Coping ok with things in work.

An early start today, as DS2 had a drs appointment before I went to work. First day back at work too. The morning went well but the afternoon was tricky. Think everyone's tired after the holidays, including me! Swapped my 20p collection for notes (save all 20p & £2 coins, sometimes use them for treats like going to the ice cream parlour or a chippy tea) & asked for the village shop to save me some newspapers for the fire. Made a couple of phonecalls before tea, so can cross them off my to do list, then did the ironing after. Think I'll be heading to bed soon.
Grateful for a nice morning at work, seeing colleagues & pupils again, auntie in America returning newspaper cuttings I'd sent her of my boys when they were little (15 years ago)Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Today I am grateful for strong coffee, for dh going out and about with dc, for making a very quick and simple and tasty veggie tea, for not being overwhelmed with admin at work, for the staggered start of covid testing meaning a more relaxied start to the day.

Evening turtles
Been a spend day for me; i needed non-dairy milk, cat food and basil; i didn't need a set of 3 elegant glass candleholders I saw in the CS but i bought them anyway ! While in there i picked up a collection jar for 5p pieces, when full it will add up to £2 at which point i will return it to themFinished work early to do an online medical consultation for DD2, was helpful. Drove to the shops and my windscreen was already freezing over, glad to be in the warm now.
Gratitudes - lovely consultant; nice text chat with sis & phone calls with friends; being warm indoors with my cats
love Deni
