ladyholly said:I hope all is well with your throat. The feeling that food is stuck is horrible.Well done on the car boots. I know what you mean about stuff being overwhelming. Unfortunately most of ours belongs to Mr LH and might come in "useful". I would like to know where a laptop from the ark is going to be useful not to mention a broken car radio etc etc
Yes, it's very hard when something hasn't come in useful and isn't likely to as technology has moved on! DH also thinks that everything has a value, or he paid X for it so wants to get his money back. Not appreciating that times move on and people won't pay that for that particular thing any more. He doesn't get the sunk cost fallacy!

Meeting over, didn't take long thankfully. I can enjoy the rest of my holiday again now!
I tidied through and have sorted out and labelled most of the new school uniform.
DH is doing a tip run and charity shop drop off, so he heard my moaning

Just had a phone call from a pharmacist - GP referred my message to them. They have now referred me back to GP. I don't know whether to go out this afternoon or not now. It would be a shame to miss out on a day as the kids go back to school on Friday (!) so they've only got a couple of days off, especially as it's meant to be wet by the weekend.

Glad your DH got rid of more stuff that sounds like a huge result.
I would be very overwhelmed after a car boot - I've only done one ever and that was enough for me.
Hope you manage to sort your throat. I'd pester the GP for an appointment and say you're really worried.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Happy payday! I've refilled all my pots, but will probably immediately dip into them again. Hopefully not as much this month though.
I've prioritised my savings though - the PB and LISA, so whilst I'm dipping into the other pots, those are still growing, and of course the mortgage is shrinking due to the PADs. So I'm making progress, it's just the emergency funds and house funds that are going up and down like a yoyo. My PBs could be used in an emergency anyway.
We are off to the zoo today, Bristol Zoo closes on Saturday so we wanted to make one last trip.
Have a good day everyone."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
Happy payday. I do the same with my pots. They are getting better, but up and down a lot. The main thing that helped was when I got the savings to a certain amount I then stopped counting my pots in with my savings. So although they fluctuate wildly they don’t alter my savings total when they are on a downward spiral 😬 it helps a lot as I see the savings go up each month (some months better than others).
