I live in the general area served by Bristol Zoo and personally I think it is a tragedy that wherethe new is beng built will have no near public transport access (unless something changes).

WinterWarrior said:Happy payday. I do the same with my pots. They are getting better, but up and down a lot. The main thing that helped was when I got the savings to a certain amount I then stopped counting my pots in with my savings. So although they fluctuate wildly they don’t alter my savings total when they are on a downward spiral 😬 it helps a lot as I see the savings go up each month (some months better than others).
Have a fabulous day at the zoo 🐻 🐯 🐘Yes, I list my PBs and LISA separately so they always go up. My emergency fund and cash buffer fluctuate constantly through the month.

I agree separating long term savings / EF from sinking funds helps me tooI agree, knowing my PBs and LISA are increasing, as well as continuing my PADs helps me forgive my excessive spending.

We had a lovely day today, it was heaving though (unsurprisingly!). We managed to get free parking a short while away, so that was useful, though we spent a fortune in the restaurant which is unusual to us. We managed to avoid buying anything in the shop though.
We stopped at the big Asda and got the last few bits needed for school and a gift for a birthday party the kids are going to at the weekend. I also picked up some throat lozenges from the pharmacy just so that if my doc ever comes back to me I can say I've tried everything the pharmacy suggested (and of course, hoping that they might do the trick even though my throat isn't sore!).
Tomorrow we are hoping to head for the seaside and I want to get my swim in the sea done! It's been so many years since I've done anything more than paddle, and I am determined. It looks like the weather is going to break at the weekend too, so it might be my last chance this year!
I have a super declutter list to update this month, just got to find the time to do it"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
I didnt realise you were in this neck of the woods. I was going to say more about the Zoo moving but got interupted. I got in touch with the wild place project which will be incorparated into the zoo and asked about public transport and was told basically tough if you cant manage a 10 - 15 minute walk plus walking round the site. I get so angry at the lack of thought when building these things. Usng public transport should be encouraged but it seems that planners are too devoted to only providing access to cars.
