2022 - No Craft Spending - I WILL bust my stash and make pretty things!!!!!

In less than the last 3 weeks I have made 21 doggy duvets so almost one a day except they were more crammed in than that!
Really don't want to see another human duvet or cover/ sheet/ pillowcase for a while. I also packed my shoeboxes and delivered them- so a teeny space created.
In the end I managed to knit 4 pairs of mittens, and my friend, the star, made 6 pairs!
I am off on holiday with dogs & sewing machine.
Plan to:
get some (rescue) dog coats sewn from scruffy blankets.
Crochet 1 or more knee blankets (1m x 1m),
at least 6 crochet angels. That will not really make a hole in the stash!!
Also mini wreaths from old wooden curtain rings & granny 'square' stars from an unpicked jumper. (They are just like granny squares but with 5 blocks not 4.) These last 2 are for a craft fair mid November.
Make cards- mainly to order.
I gave away a huge bag of furry / fluffy bits to a friend for a toddler group from the last dog coats so little was wasted. This time tatty blanket scraps will go as rag weight. The coat ties are made from new old style ruflette tape in a fetching shade of purple! or used pieces of the cream (same) stuff. It's 100% cotton so washes and isn't too harsh to tie round hound tummies!
I really want the knee blankets done as the main 'colours' are grey & fawn which I inherited. Not my favourite shades. Hope I get to sit and chat to people as that is how the blankets grow.....
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I've finished my quilt and I'm sure it'll get lots of use this winter. Most of the fabrics were bought specially for this project although 2 of the florals were from my stash. The backing is a pink flannelette sheet I bought from a charity shop several years ago. It's a bit bobbly but nobody's going to see that. The weight of this sheet gives the quilt a heaviness that I like.I've posted a photo of it sitting beside one of the cushions I made last week. Next project is re upholstering a small storage stool. Hoping to get it finished next week.

Not much to report from me. I have been making a few cards and things for orders which takes my total up to 1306/2022 but I've sort of lost my crafting mojo and just find myself sitting at my craft desk staring at all my stash.
On the plus side it's stopped me from buying any more so every cloud and all thatMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.025 -

The house looks like an outpost of Steptoe's Yard!! it just gets worse and worse as I prioritise the sewing/ making whilst cleaning comes in at rock bottom (even floor level!) No, I do vacuum up dog hairs!
So after a long drive I get to be in a minimalist(-ish) house which is neat & tidy when I arrive. Unpack the car and ..... stuff every where!
Shorter darker days, longer nights: want to hibernate!
I'll let you know what I achieve.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Happy crafting on this horrible wet day
I actually had a clear out of my daughters cupboard yesterday and she decided to get rid of a lot of clothes she no longer wears so I have put a few aside that I like to use in various crafts and I think I might be turning a few of them into a quilt so it has memories and keeps me warm too. Just need to look up how to do it now!

My crafting has almost ground to a halt the last few weeks other than finishing a cross stitch and a card I drew for my friend. I have been having a good declutter and did daughters room yesterday - feels and looks so much better but I found more craft stuff in the process!
@Katiehound your projects sound amazing! Would love to see pictures!
Also dont worry about the house - I can fully sympathise. Whilst I tackled my 12 year olds bedroom yesterday I completely neglected the rest of the house and have had to spend this morning doing basic housework and things like dishes, bathroom, sides , washing etc because I dont know what happened yesterday but it felt like a whirlwind went through my house.
Dining room is now none existent and is currently housing 2 bike stands and 6 mountain bikes! 2 which dont belong to us but are being kept safe whilst friends move house, my daughters BMX, my sons mountain bike, husbands ebike and my daughters christmas present in the form of a mountain bike that arrived yesterday.
I don't see me every having my dining room back so I have spent today clearing off my craft desk and reclaiming it as my little safe 'mum only' area!
Picture below of the card I drew to send to a friend who has a rough time around this time of the year. I finished it off by adding her name in scrabble tiles through the middle of it.
Keep considering a cricut machine for christmas but I think I realisitically probably wont use it as much as I think I will and would hate to waste money. Think Id rather just have a hobbycraft giftcard and go and stock up on random things to do!

I really need to find some sort of get up and go as my crafting mojo has got up and gone ;(
I have moved up to 1319/2022 though since my last post after making a few little bits for the trickle of orders I have had from Etsy shop - its so quiet
On the plus side, although I have been tempted, I have not spent anything else on craft suppliesMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.024 -

Naughty Hobbycraft keep sending me emails, but I am resisting the urge to put an order in when my poor craft desk is full of things at the minute already.
My crafting mojo hits me in waves but I am very aware that there is a cross stitch I would like to do and frame for my mother in law this christmas as a present but I havent even brought it yet - its not big but its still going to take some time to actually stitch!Time to find me again5
