Now up to 23/100- I'm going to the disco as a pirate, and have made a scabbard (for sons borrowed sword) and strung some beads from a long abandoned project into a pirates necklace (lots of metal/gem like beads). It's about as much effort as I want to go to for a 1hr disco... 🤣

4/40 matinee jacket pretty much finished, just need to see buttons on which I’ll do this evening. Need to plod on with current jumper for my mum and tracing out a sewing pattern onto Swedish tracing paper so I can get that made. Hoping to do some card making soon too, will see what I can do of it all over the next few days as am on annual leave from work for the rest of this week.

that is fantasticemsi_b said:Hello everyone! I am chuffed with myself for knocking up a bat costume for my son's Halloween disco. I used a t shirt pattern I already had, remnants of black Jersey and then made a pattern piece for the wings to join up to the sleeve and sides. It isn't perfect, but it very much resembles a bat, good for playing in and I drafted a piece by myself!!!
I also have lots of other bits cut out- including some PJs tailored to young sir who has age 4-5 length legs but age 2-3 tummy 😂 how when he eats like there's no tomorrow...
Now up to 21/100, but expecting a flurry of completed items soon.

Well, another one added to the tally - wanted a skirt to replace one of my favourites which is slowly dying of old age, but couldn't find anything I liked, at a price I could afford, that I would get before next weekend.
However, a root around my pattern stash turned up a hi-low skirt pattern which fitted the bill (after a spot of pattern-hacking to turn a zipped skirt into an elastic-waisted one for speed purposes) so, with some slightly stretchy velvet, a length of elastic and some lovely lace trim salvaged from a pvc skirt that died, I now have a worthy replacement for the favourite.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

Good morning, seems ages since I've been on here 😳I've finished the colour blocked cardigan and I absolutely love it. It's so comfy to wear just like the one I knitted years ago. I only had to buy 100g of grey wool as the rest of the wool was from my stash.I've also knitted 8 hats and already given them to my grandchildren and one to my daughter in law who loves wearing hats. All this wool was from my stash.
I went to the Craft Fayre at the SECC in Glasgow recently and did buy fabric and wool. SORRY but I just couldn't help myself 🤪. I bought Xmas upholstery weight fabric to make some tote bags for Xmas presents. I've already got 3 partially made and just waiting for red zips to arrive. I'm going to sew a pocket on the outside just big enough for a mobile phone and keys.
My other purchase was wool that I absolutely did not need but I just loved the colour. It's a burgundy, pink and purple variegated Aran wool to knit myself a jacket.Below is a photo of my cardigan.
Happy Crafting

I was thinking about buying a vinyl cutter for wedding diying (and more) and was wondering if anyone had one and if they would recommend it?
I've looked into Cricuts but I know people some think they are awful so 🤷♂️4 -
Wow what amazing makes - I feel very inferior with my paper crafts compared to you lot - you are all amazing!!!
cupcake - I have a silhouette cameo - had it for nearly 6 years now and I've used it the grand total of 3 times - people love them but I honestly hate mine with a passion. It never seems to cut right despite it supposed to have an auto blade so I end up cutting them out by hand. I think it is just me who hates them though and the machine senses my fear so has fun with me!!!!
Not loads to report from me but I have been making a few bits and bobs including two cards for my hubbys mum and dad which he has not even bothered to post off yet!! My total now stands at 1493/2022 so if I want to make this hyears target I really need to get a wiggle on!!!
Good news on the spending front though I have not spent anymore money - even though I have filled up several virtual baskets but I've surprised myself and found the willpower to not hit that checkout button.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.023
