  • Good morning everyone,
lately I've not been doing as much sewing as I need to do to get everything finished before Christmas. I'm going to record my goals here on a Sunday and that might make me get on with it !!! I've no problem with my knitting as I always knit when I'm watching tv and I watch a lot of tv and YouTube etc 🤪

So my goals for the following week are
    1) Finish the 3 Christmas bags I've already started.
    2) Recover a small pouffe that I use as a footstool. I made it a few years ago and it's easy to use anywhere.  I've already finished the large storage footstool which is too heavy to move about.
    3) Sew one of the quilt blocks for the Debbie Shore quilts that I started in March. I've only done 7 blocks so I've another 6 to make before even starting to put it together. Not sure I'll get this finished before Christmas.

If I get these finished this week I'll be really happy.
    Happy crafting xx
@bit_by_bit  I love your crochet blanket. The colours go together beautifully

  • @plumduff55, just delurking to say I love that cardigan and ask where you got the pattern

The pattern is Emu 21719 but it's many years old. It would be easy to adapt to any double knitting pattern that's a similar style.  The blocks are all 42 rows long and the width is just divided into sections.
Here is a photo. Unfortunately I can't copy the pattern for you due to copyright.

Had a quick trawl on Ebay for that particular  pattern as I also rather like it but lost the will to live!  In about 10 or more pages (60 on a page?) I only saw one pattern that I used to have. Words needle & haystack come to mind!!
My only other suggestion is to look in charity shops- round here some have stacks,

Some folk sell photo copies online- but they tend to be really old ones such as Bestway.
Are you sure copyright is still valid- Emu Spinners (Keighley) are no longer in business but perhaps someone bought their trademark??

You can still buy Emu wool from the Knitting Network, and it appears to be new. How is that if firm no longer exists?? (Rhetorical question!)

I've been a woman possessed this weekend. I have a craft fair coming up this weekend, and I've made 30 Christmas cards and put together 5 packs of make your own Christmas card kits. I've got 8 part finished cards on my desk, and another 5 packs of make your own cards to finish off. It has OF COURSE not even made a dent in the stash. I think I might be able to see some space where it all used to be, but I suspect it's just wishful thinking!

I've gotten a bit confused with my totals- my signature says 42/100 on my last post, but I've put 23/100 in the text- I will need to check back and see which is right!!!
    Make £2025 in 2025- £751.88/£2025
    Make £2024 in 2024- £852.21/£2024

    Hello all
Im finally back after having a few weeks away from the computer.
Husband surprised me with a new puppy (we have 5 pets already so why we needed a 6th Im not sure) but he is very cute and now named Hamish and boy is he keeping me on my toes. Roll on his 2nd jab when I can get him out and exercising to wear him out.
Husband has woken up with some sort of cold bug this morning though so hes been sleeping most the day.
Its blowing a gale here too and I spent an hour the other day tidying my craft desk and supplies.

Things to get done (or at least plan) this week are
    • I have a few pen pal letters to reply to, write introductions for and decorate.
    • Need to look through material to see about making dog jumpers
    • A paint your own gnome who has been sat longer than he needs to be
    • Make a start on Christmas cards
    • Plan some Christmas stockings using old material up.
    • Sort printer so I can print the teddy pattern I brought on Etsy.
    • 2 small Christmas cross stitches
so that should keep me busy at least!
    Time to find me again
  • interesting to know @craftingmad I've heard people say that about Cricuts too 😂
  • Picture of the rag doll I made - sorry it's so big!
