I’m loving the packing structure for the quilt retreat. My packing tends to be gin heavy when I’m off. 🤣🤣

loving the work people have done. You’re all so dedicated.

I’ve managed to put up some shelves. I may have used and therefore ruined the wrong drill bit. I couldn’t find screws or rawl plugs that I know I own so have had to buy more. Annoyingly.

I rehung the mirror I took down for the shelves too.

I’ve seen a small amount of the quilt too but nothing finished so not counting on my tally.

I’ve done a bundle fo fabric I’m so I’m excited to pick that up once I’ve decided what I want.

    248 / 250.

It’s not masses but I’m pleased I’ve done stuff. I have more to do when the window men have gone. They’ve opened the bathroom window - the only one I’m not replacing. And I’m terrified it won’t close.

    £120.91 / £250. Budget spent.

Currently cross stitching my way through a pack I brought last year. A few more bits to finish on the winter fun and then I am 3/6 done.
That will be some of my Christmas cards sorted and I have a few small other cross stitches to do.
I am thinking I may try and find empty baubles so that when they are done as cards they can be turned into ornaments by the receivers so then are mini gifts in themselves.

    x

I was just wondering if you would be able to frame them (rather than make baubles)
the only product that I can find in a hurry is wood effect (whereas they used to come in colours)
Just an idea. Sew a piece of fabric across back to hide construction.

I love the cross stitches. You have the patience of a saint doing those.

    253 / 250.

I’m going to keep plodding on with the same target as a was to remember the initial aim.

    £120.91 / £250. Budget spent.

I’ve framed a sashiko piece. Hung it. And have also hung a key hook as well as some curtains. I need to take one set down and measure for a pome so I can use the one I have in the bedroom.

I then need to whip up some curtains. For the said bedroom as I have currently got a yoga mat in front of the window to try to block the street light at night time. I have the blankets to do.

plumduff55, I’m impressed that you made the trek to Glasgow and delighted that your visit to Cottonprint was worthwhile.   I’d never heard of it and I don’t think I’d make as much effort to get there without a car.   The only place I’ve been is Mandor’s in Renfrew Street.   I love your little cardigan (great buttons) and hat.   Enjoy your ‘grown-up’ knitting now, the colours are lovely.   I no longer have the patience for big knitting projects.   Wow, a quilting holiday!   Where are you going/have you been?

Edwink, I remember having beaded doilies.   They make me think of summer and a big jug of lemonade outside, protected from beasties.

emsi_b, I’m on your side with counting mending – and for the same reason!   Well done re PJ bottoms - they are so easy to do, very satisfying.   I tried scrapbooking some years ago, but I didn’t enjoy it.   Then I saw ’Project Life’ and though that looked a good way to do it, so I bought all the stuff – cost a fortune, really.   I made 1 page - maybe.   Then I found a set of prompts for journaling and that suited me better – although I don’t have the pics to go with it as the ones I’ve done are really about memories.   I’m scared of magnetic snaps: it’s the cutting into the fabric and I think I’ll have done it in the wrong place and I’ll have ruined everything!   Tell me how you get on, please.

Wraithlady, I’m in love with your llama!

I bet you’ve made a big dent in that wool stash, florenceem.   Many, many moons ago, I made granny square Christmas stockings (not all in traditional colourways) for a playgroup fundraiser.   My kids loved theirs; they were stretchy, so Santa could stuff LOTS in them. Lol.  Another lovely card, although to quote a song, “I don’t like cricket” (but you have to ignore the next line).

I hope things have settled down for you now, nimbo.   Enjoy your dressmaking class.   I’m a danger with a drill, so you have my undying admiration.

sammy_kaye18, I like your creative interpretation of the number ‘5’!   I’m worn out at the thought of them!

Katiehound you are a smart shopper!

Considering I’ve been MIA, I’ve not done much.

    ·         bias binding on armholes of DiL’s jacket, restyling it as a waistcoat

    ·         9 vegetable bags (assorted sizes) made from leftover lace (awfully posh for veggies, lol)

    ·         a crocheted turtle motif for last jumper I made

    ·         1 birthday card + 4 more

Coming Up this week and next

    ·         another crochet jumper (more than half done)

    ·         anniversary card

    ·         craft room THOROUGH tidy and clean (it’s never ending) – friend coming  while we are on holiday, to do outside paintwork and varnishing, and to varnish all the interior window ledges

    Take care, everyone.
