I have finally finished off a dress I started sewing last summer - it’s my first one and there’s a lot that I was disappointed by. But it fits as well as any dress I’ve bought and it will do nicely when we get to the summer. And one fewer thing off my list of unfinished projects!6

Good morning, I've been using some of my wool stash since New Year and have knitted 2 blue baby jackets, 2 pairs of bootees and 2 hats for my 6th grandchild due at the end of May. Last 2 have been girls so nice to use some of the blue wool now.
My daughter in law gave me some dk wool by West Yorkshire Spinners about 4 years ago. I have started knitting 2 hats, one pair of mittens and one pair of fingerless gloves for Xmas presents next year. Purely by chance I found a gorgeous sweatshirt in the same colours ( pink, purple and fuchsia ) in TKMax yesterday. I bought it for 9 year old dgd and that will go with her hat set.My sewing today will be a memory cushion for a friend who's dad died recently. When I get time I will give myself a budget for the year and a target for using up my stash.

Lovely cards @craftingmad . I wish I had the patience
Fanatastic crafting @euronorrisGreat fabrics too.
Great idea for used duvets and covers @KatiehoundQuality Contol Hound very serious about his role
I have been prograstinating again and putting off finishing a blanket Mil handed me to finish. It is a patchwork with patches made by various members of the family for one of the grandbabies born before Christmas. My part is to edge it. The baby will be 2 months old by the time he gets it but better late than never I suppose. Not all my delay. I have had it a week or so.
I will report in when it is done

I had a lovely morning sewing yesterday. I didn’t get masses down but it was nice to catch up with people. I have also potted on some aloe plants. I’m amazed I haven’t killed it yet. But this may be what does I suppose.I was hoping to spray paint the frames. But I now cannot find the spray paint. So the figure has gone up - but I was hoping to get those done as the glass is in the way and I’m worried I’ll end up breaking it.spent so up to £23.87 / 250. Only adding to keep track.I did a happy dance yesterday when I couldn’t teach the semi open sky light in the kitchen and when my fella got back he could just reach it on the step ladders. It definitely alleviated some of my worries when it stopped rattling. Hope you’re all well and have stayed warm and dry. Xxxx

Have made another bracelet, 2nd one by Kumihimo.
Still need to sort out gluing the clasp on with the amount of glue so it does not show on the braiding - I am worried that it won‘t stay attached. Have also nearly finished sewing up the pieces of my knitted cardi

I saw these and had to have a creme egg.I’ve located the spray paint and have managed to get one coat on the frames. It’s pouring it down here so haven’t braved the garage to do another. So nothing finished - but I’m in the way 😁😁😁
hope people still have roofs and no leaks. Xxxxxx

I already dipped into my budget by picking up a fat quarter bundle of mandalorian themed fabric from Aldi for £4.99. Whoops. £20.01 remaining.
I finally threaded my overlocker and uses it for the first time! Yay! Nerves conquered. So I also made the pyjama top of the Xmas pyjamas I wanted for myself. Stitching fine, but shoulder seams are hanging too low. However, it's comfortable to wear and sleep in, so I'm not fussed and its all part of learning.
I also prepped some fabric for another project, but I need some extra bits to make it. Soft and stable? Anyone used or can recommend something similar, or cheaper?February wins: Theatre tickets5 -
I've got rather left behind but am starting to catch up again. I'm calling my poplin summer dress finished now that I've covered a matching belt for it. I would like to add side-seam pockets, but as I might also want to take the side-seams out a little, I'm waiting until after I've worn it a couple of times. Now I need to finish the bolero to make an outfit: current deadline is April, for a birthday party, and I'm on track for that. I've also mended DC's cloth doll (on my to-do list for ages), so that's one thing off my "big projects" list and one off the "small projects". On the downside, I've succumbed to spending temptation with buttons (to match some stash yarn) and patterns (less excuse, but stash compatible). I think that puts me at £13.78/£50.2022 stashbusting:
1/6 large projects completed

Having a few old and battered whelk shells lurking around I made these paper clay toadstools to go in them. The 'moss' is some leftover wool I had.
