Would you accept another late comer for the challenge? I am not going to set any goals.
I have lots of card making materials, so what I want to do is make as many cards I would need to buy, which on average would save me £2-250 a card.

Valentines Day Card

(I have washed them down). This weekend I have a day of sewing planned too.Not spent any more so still £22.87 / 250. Only adding to keep track. It’s nice to see so many people joining in and I hope you’ve all been productive.
I haven’t bought any paper clay. 🤣🤣

I have spent some of my £50 budget today on 3 curtains with cockerels on as I would like to make a pair of dungarees and only have mainly yellow coloured material big enough to make a pair. One single curtain I got for £3.11 and a pair of curtains of the same design as the other curtain for £6.10. I am very happy with them as the material for the dungarees would have cost way more than under £10. Now all I need to do is make them once they arrive.
So I have spent a grand total of £9.21 and I have £40.79 left.
I'm in the process of jazzing up a plain pair of denim dungarees and so far spent this evening on them so about 3 hours in total. I finished the other pair of dungarees I was altering last week and I made a birthday card yesterday so my total is now 5 out of 25.

@nimbo - That all sounds very impressive! Well done on the paper clay.
Made me laugh!
Oooh @edwink those dungarees sound very cool!
I have finally finished the shawl I have been working on. Not sure if I quite like it but that's often the way! Now hopefully I can make some progress on other projects and make a dent in the stash.5 -

ChainikCrafts well done on finishing the shawl. It's a great feeling when a big project is finished.
I've sorted out some of my material stash. I had inherited boxes and boxes from my mother-in-law. There was so much that it was going to take me years to use, so I've given half to my sister who will use a fair bit, and what she doesn't use she'll pass on to her friends. At least I know what I have now, and my craft store is a bit tidier.GC Feb 25 - £225.54/£250 Mar £218.63/£2406 -
Soontobeoap said:craftingmad said:So after my failure in previous years, 2022 is most definitely the year I am going to try really hard to bust my stash!!!!
I have no choice as I have nowhere left to store craft goodies in my house. Its overflowing and annoying my poor suffering husband and son.
So have put myself on a self imposed craft spending ban during 2022.
As a total ban has not worked well for me in the past I have decided to set a budget of £300 for the year for me to treat myself to new supplies. I am not going to include in my budget buying adhesives or supplies for orders (for items which I already make - I have my own business on Etsy) as long as I have nothing left in my stash which I can use and I am allowing crafty storage as extra if really required and I don't have something already that can do the job as I figure being organised will help me see the stash I already have.
Other than that I hope to use only things from my stash and not get tempted by the new shiny objects which keep being released.
As I have failed miserably at my previous targets I may have to set the bar a little lower but always optimistic I am am going to start my target at 2022
This will be a mixture of cards, scrapbook pages, project Life (I will class each page or handmade filler card as one item), handmade items - in fact a real mixture of things as I'm sure I have all the supplies I need to make pretty much everything I can think of!
Would anybody care to join me?
The rules are simple - there are no hard and fast rules apart from what you want them to be. The aim is to use our crafty stash and stay within our crafty budget but of course if you do weaken and grow your stash just come in and confess your sins and you will be forgiven
You can set your own target of how many items you would like to make using your stash or just a certain amount of time you want to not buy for. Wow you lot are a talented bunch and our stash busting efforts seem to be going well.
I cannot believe how little we have all spent between us - so give yourselves a huge pat on the back.
I got really tempted by the toner paper and pens on a certain shopping channel this week but I managed to resist as I remembered that I had a whole box full of foils in my stash somewhere so decided to experiment using double sided tape and sticker sheets (whole plain sticker sheets as cheaper than double sided tape sheets!) and managed to make three cards using them which although are not perfect I hope add to the handmade feel of the cardI even managed to foil some die cut butterflies using the same technique so I'm feeling accomplished.
So including the three cards below I am declaring a further 34 items made taking my total up to 283/2022 and still no more craft spendingMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.025 -
Hello! Could I also join please?
I have quite a large stash of fabric and tools, bit rarely find the time to sew. I did do some today though, making a gift for daughters friends birthday, and a scrunchie to go with it, and then another scrunchie for daughter lol.
I think I will aim to make one thing a month, and I want to keep my spends low so set a budget of £25 for the year, as I shouldn't need anything other than maybe some elastic and or thread.
And, I got an overlocker for my birthday and I still haven't used it! 🙈 I'm going to watch some videos tonight on how to set it up and use it, as some of the projects I want to do are clothes.
I am in awe of the card making skills here. They are fabulous!
