Yes, I hit a brick wall with it, so best to leave. 3 years later older, wiser, see things a bit differenly, and away I went as this time I knew which direction to go!bit_by_bit said:Congrats: Lovely colourful quirky work @pennib. Its an chievment to finish such a detailed piece even if you put it down for a few years. It helps to look at things with fresh eyes once you got bored with a project.

Would you be willing to take another late starter? One of my main resolutions for this year is to use up what I already have - particularly in terms of crafts! I don’t have a yearly budget for crafts as my income will fluctuate, but I will be tracking what I spend on crafts. I also don’t have a target for number of projects but will report on where I get to!
I have four small boxes of yarn, which is a small stash by some people’s standards. However, it was quite shocking seeing how fast it grew last year. And how many things I was really excited for, I just didn’t make. I also inherited a lot of bits of yarn and fabric, so I really want to push myself to use them. Currently working out what to do with them feels a bit overwhelming.
All this said, I have actually bought some yarn already this year - I’m making a shawl for a family friend as it is her 60th. A shawl feels like the right present and I didn’t have yarn that would work. That also means I need to really work on that for the next month, so won’t finish much for a while. I am a very slow knitter!6 -
Wow everyone has been so busy and I just don't know where the time has gone!5

I’ve had a delivery today. A lampshade making kit.I’m not currently counting it a spend as it was cheaper then a new shade was. I have everything else I need to make it up. I just need to figure out a. A design. Can’t decide if I just go patchwork and use up loads of wool scraps or if I design a scene or do stags heads appliqués onto cream backing fabric. That’s the project for the weekend. I hope.

I'm checking in to report that I have been busy making little bags for a huge order from my Etsy shop and also a few cards to add to my stash ready to send so I am now up to ...... drum roll please ........ 249/2022.
I'm actually feeling like I might make my total this year
I have had to spend another £3.40 on supplies though to finish the big order but still well within budget for this month.
I have also been really tempted by a few things from selly telly but I've stuck firm and not completed checkout - even with the discounts they are offering
We can do this

Bought some cushion making fabric for £7.50 I have spent £9.50/£25.00 now.
I didn't buy some chirstmas fabric for a tree skirt I want to make though.
Sorting through bed linen today I found a couple of bright red pillowcases I can use and embellish instead. DH won't notice they are gone and they don't match any bedding we have. Not sure where they came from anyway, lol.

In January I managed to make 60 small felt ornaments (10 designs, 6 of each design) and 12 egg cosies (2 designs, 6 of each). They were a nice, easy way to start the crafting year. Eventually, I might manage to sell at a craft fair, but I need to make a lot more, and more complex, stuff first. This month will be knitting month. Attached is a photo of the first months makes.
