Charity Shopping - New to You in '22!

I snapped up a copy of that book a couple of years ago and can thoroughly recommend it. I'm very envious of your Uniqlo cashmere, sounds lovely.happydenial said:@goldfinches - I was just looking at those cut herb keepers online this afternoon, I think they’re about £14 new so you got a bargain!
I have been away for the week and had some great finds in the charity shops (unlike my local ones which are all ‘£30 for a bobbly Boden tshirt’ sort of shops). I got a pink Uniqlo 100%cashmere jumper for 50p, and then a pair of straight dark blue (but worn in) jeans for £4 - when I got home I realised they were M&S. Also got a copy of Delia’s Frugal Food (the 2008 reissued version) for £1.6 -
A pair of white leather M and S trainers with a silver star on the side £4.6

This is a new one on me but now I have Googled it I know where to find it. Thank you!Wednesday2000 said:I went into a shop called The Cornerstone yesterday. I picked up a pair of red and white curtains (as I was looking for a door curtain for winter) and an orange glass dish and a yellow dish for displaying my autumn decorations for my home. I also got a red Next blouse and a framed picture of Hockely wood in winter with snowfall. That all came to £11.
I was looking for autumn decor but I found a fleecy dark green throw and a dark red pillow at a homeless charity shop today and I also saw a nice glass vase by the counter. That was all £7.50.
I had been looking for a coat with a hood for winter, but the assistants said the coats would be out in the stores in a few weeks. I did see a blue padded gillet with a hood but I don't think I need to wear something that makes me look bigger on top! It did look like it would be warm though.
Am guessing the homeless charity is Harp?No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Yes. Harp. The Cornerstone is very reasonable in price for Leigh.Rosa_Damascena said:

I went into The Cornerstone again this morning and they must have had a sale as I found an Asos maroon coat with a hood, an M&S black mini dress, a silver coin purse and a handbag mirror. All for £5! I'm just washing the coat and dress now to put on the line to dry.2025 GOALS

Well it's too small for someone who might wear a size 24. Or 3XL. Bought it across the channel so the size will likely be 58 or something - will check just in case a miracle has occurred and I've shrunk in the wash. If not I'll keep you in mind!!!Wednesday2000 said:
Ooh, what size? You could let me buy it and buy him a pressie with the money!Brie said:
I keep looking at my black wool coat with a hood and wonder if I can sneak it out to a chazza.

I had a successful trawl around the chazzers in three local towns today (it’s been a busy day of running family errands!). I’m planning on sewing a fabric ‘busy book’ (also known as a quiet book) for my baby granddaughter who is now fascinated by fastenings such as zips and buckles. One shop had a large basket of toddler sized clothes marked at 10 for £1, so I chose little denim dungarees, a jersey jacket with tiny zipped pockets, shorts with a plastic buckle belt, and small boy shirts with buttoned pockets and plackets - more than enough to cut up and add to several felt pages for her book.
I also bought a pair of very long curtains which look unused, in a cream and fawn check pattern for just £5. The fabric is man made but feels like wool, and they have a lovely country house look about them. I plan to cut them up to make cushion covers, which I will appliqué (some with red/green felt holly leaves, and some with brown fabric stag heads) and use them for my Christmas decor.
Also bought a pretty little cut glass cream jug (£1), a little shell shaped glass soap dish (£1), and a big bag of Liberty fabric offcuts (£2).10 -

Where did you get the Liberty fabric offcuts and were there any left in the shop please? These are just what I've been looking for to make a baby quilt for a friend.C_J said:I had a successful trawl around the chazzers in three local towns today (it’s been a busy day of running family errands!). @goldfinches : I got the Liberty fabric offcuts from the Blue Cross shop in Kidlington, but it was the only bag. They do sell small mixed bags of Liberty fabric pieces (as well as various Liberty designs by the metre, and I think they will sell them in 25cm amounts) at the fabric shop in the Centre in Kidlington (Freelance Fabrics) but it is obviously a lot more expensive.3
