I'm just running through the bargains I got on Saturday whilst shopping with my Mum:
- Chazzer 1: 6 books, a trinket box for 50p and a heavy decorative glass bowl with decorative (BNWT - originally £12.50) for £4. On the way out I spotted a large handbag big enough to stick my laptop in, which Mum treated me to for £3.
 - Chazzer 2: 3 books, a long smart summer dress and a blouse for work for a total of £4.50.
 - Chazzer 3: a heated throw / overblanket (BNWT) for £10.

(Then I blew a load on vino at Asda - 25% off 6+ bottles, and I bought 18 - but that is a different story).
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.8 -

What annoyed me a zillion years back was trying to find a wedding dress with pockets. Did manage in the end thanks for Laura Ashley. Am about to ask nieces if they want the dress which is still bagged up at my mom's. Don't actually think it will fit either (one is incredibly petite and the other super fit/sporty so almost not related to me!!!) but it's that or chazza it. Will be happy if one wants it to dye lime green for hallowe'en.bargainhunterss said:
I hear you on the pockets thing - why do more leggings not have pockets?? They’re so handy!building_with_lego said:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I'm deffo going to make an effort and come up to North Yorks a day early soon, (Fri), I like the idea of 2 car boots in a day.! Haven't been to one since the days of the one on the racecourse at Thirsk. (Had a lovely meal at Tom & Nellies in Bedale this last week-end)Cherryfudge said:
Half my Saturday haul was from Bedale car boot sale (in the morning), the rest was from Thirsk which opens at 1pm (and charges £1 admission).Miró said:
Still haven't made to that boot sale yet! Did fly past the one just outside Harrogate yesterday but didn't have time to stop.Cherryfudge said:
My car boot sale haul today! (I had a lovely time and no, I didn’t buy everything).
Next jeans £1
Next shirt 50p
craft book £1
Judith Kerr Treasury £2
3 baby books £1
building blocks 50p
4 bags of apples £1.70
soft toy £2
approx 800g yarn £3.50
board game 50p
wooden domino box 50p
Some are for the baby of course and the yarn is intended for a jumper for DH.The wool was originally £3.90 for 100g so about £28 saved there 😊.
@Floss. Green eyed monster activated re the Hobbs jumper dress.... well spotted!
I forgot one item: a glass soap dish for 50p.
Had a squiz round the chazzers in Ripon today - saw a nice Ted Baker midi skirt , black & pink flower border on a cream background , priced at £7.99. Trouble was it was one of those divided skirt type jobbies, (which I hate...ditto jumpsuits!). I did think about altering it to make a proper skirt but nah...too much faff and bother!6 -
I had a spare 5 mins before the dentist today so popped into the shared Shared Space opposite the theatre, and picked up 3 books at 70p each (inflation!!). @Wednesday2000 - the former Havens chazzer in Westcliff (next to the small Tesco) will be a St Vincent's, coming soon. Looks like it's almost ready, I look forward to having a look round. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I am going to York and Brighton next month and I'm looking forward to trying the chazzers in new areas. The woman I'm meeting in Brighton is a big charity shop fan so I'm sure we will be browsing through the shops there.4 -
I've spied a new charity shop opening on our high street soon (Northallerton) so foresee checking them out. Its a childrens charity but I cant remember the name - not one of the biggies though...Wealth is not measured by currency5

York also has The Vintage Store on Parliament Street which has some interesting stuff though a bit more expensive than most charity shops. Good to see things finding new homes though.Wednesday2000 said:I am going to York and Brighton next month and I'm looking forward to trying the chazzers in new areas.
