I just saw the shop when I walked past. I don't know how I hadn't noticed it. It does look almost ready.Rosa_Damascena said:I had a spare 5 mins before the dentist today so popped into the shared Shared Space opposite the theatre, and picked up 3 books at 70p each (inflation!!). @Wednesday2000 - the former Havens chazzer in Westcliff (next to the small Tesco) will be a St Vincent's, coming soon. Looks like it's almost ready, I look forward to having a look round.
I also popped into SS as I wanted to look for autumnal decor and didn't really find anything. Some tea lights in red and white containers but they look more Christmassy and I did get a bowl that I might put artifical pumpkins in to display. I bought my dog a teddy bear to chew and a pen holder for my desk. All came to £6.50.
I will try and look out for it.:)Cherryfudge said:
York also has The Vintage Store on Parliament Street which has some interesting stuff though a bit more expensive than most charity shops. Good to see things finding new homes though.Wednesday2000 said:I am going to York and Brighton next month and I'm looking forward to trying the chazzers in new areas. The woman I'm meeting in Brighton is a big charity shop fan so I'm sure we will be browsing through the shops there.6 -

Which pattern do you prefer? I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I've only seen 'opening soon' signage, not set date as appeared. I wonder how they'll do for volunteers...Cherryfudge said:
I think it's Martin House Hospice. We will probably land on their doorstep at the same time!CAFCGirl said:I've spied a new charity shop opening on our high street soon (Northallerton) so foresee checking them out. Its a childrens charity but I cant remember the name - not one of the biggies though...

Cherryfudge the Denby isn't patterned it's the Regency Green shaped like an urn one. I bought all mine from the CS with a matching teapot but there were only 5 mugs. I also got 6 cups and saucers to match and I think 3 different jugs. It was sometime last year and I think I paid around £5 for the box full. All that clutter used to be money9

My 85p jumper I fear was a wasted purchase, It seems very out of shape. The shoulders don't seem to sit right for the body (very wide across the shoulders and a lot of excess under the armpits but very high up but the body part is a lot smaller - 'muffin top' top springs to mind.
I'm starting to think it may have been tumble dried too high and has misshapen.Wealth is not measured by currency6 -
Picked up a BNWT pair of Lands End trousers in a sand shade from the 99p shop in Otley yesterday. Earlier in the week I saw a beeooootiful MaxMara black linen jacket in a chazza BNWT and originally priced at £200, chazza price £45. Didn't have time to try it on there and then but it has been stuck in my head ever since. Will be popping back tomorrow for a good squiz if it's still there but not too hopeful.7

I went into a shop called The Cornerstone yesterday. I picked up a pair of red and white curtains (as I was looking for a door curtain for winter) and an orange glass dish and a yellow dish for displaying my autumn decorations for my home. I also got a red Next blouse and a framed picture of Hockely wood in winter with snowfall. That all came to £11.
I was looking for autumn decor but I found a fleecy dark green throw and a dark red pillow at a homeless charity shop today and I also saw a nice glass vase by the counter. That was all £7.50.
I had been looking for a coat with a hood for winter, but the assistants said the coats would be out in the stores in a few weeks. I did see a blue padded gillet with a hood but I don't think I need to wear something that makes me look bigger on top! It did look like it would be warm though.2025 GOALS
