Not been on for a while, working has lost me all my child-free CS time! Mine are happy to visit with me though, they love finding toys though they're just old enough to not meltdown when there's nothing they want (DD is now 4 and DS is 6 next week !).
I did get a quick afternoon trip on Friday though and found a nice grey jumper, BNWT from F&F, originally about £18, was £4.50 in the local hospice shop along with several other F&F sample socks with cupcakes on.
Hoping for a bit more next month as both kids will be at school full time finally and I've not yet agreed additional hours at work, they've hinted that costs affecting them might mean I can stay at part time for a bit longer.Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Jan 2012: £16,000+ [STRIKE] Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Sep 2013: £13,023 [/STRIKE]

Nothing beats Tom Parker cream bottles for handiness IMHO:
I had a mega blow-out yesterday, went out shopping with Mum and it's the first time I've been shopping with such abandon since 2000! The difference being this time I bought loads from a chazzer rather than M&S. Time to prepare myself for a lean 3 months...

Sue Ryder Half Price sale did me well today.... even if I did end up overcharged...
1 jumper - 85p
1 sweatshirt - £1
1 long sleeve top/thin jumper - £1
1 pair of jean joggers - £2.
1 jigsaw - £2.75
4 books - £4
4 childrens books. Perhaps because they werent marked and she wasnt aware of the 2 for £1 on childrens books, and maybe because she was talking so much and I didn't pay much attention. The books all went on as £1 each... which I don't mind as such, its £2 but I probably wouldn't have bought 4 if they were full price - and I only really calculated the cost when I got home and suddenly thought, I'm sure it should have been under £10...but I saved on the other items so there's that and then I feel guilty for complaining about being 'overcharged' by a charity.
Then Cancer Research at the top end of town (I find it cheaper than the one at the bottom) saw us come away with another jigsaw £3.95 (2000 pieces and new) plus a Survival board game for kids £2.95Wealth is not measured by currency8 -
I collect Geeta's mango chutney jars so I can put homemade lemon curd in them for Christmas presents each year.
They're 10 (?) sided so quite impractical as air bubbles get trapped in the vertices and have to be poked out with a skewer, but they look great!8 -
I've been quite strict with myself lately because I'm still aiming to end the year on a net loss of clothes but have found heaps of beautiful bargains locally. (Currently 57 in and 63 out so there's a whisker in it!)
Yesterday I was in Wells in Somerset and was delighted to find two pairs of running leggings, EACH OF WHICH HAS TWO POCKETS! It's a small thing but means I can take my phone *and* my keys out
£4 each, one of them is F+F and around £16 new, the other M&S at almost £30, so I'm really chuffed. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.9 -

A few bargains over the past few weeks:
French Connection silk purple vest top (dressy). This says dry clean only, which I didn’t spot when I bought it, but we’ll see how we go with handwashing!
Laura Ashley orange embroidered vest top
New Look petite (hard to find!) blouse
DH also managed to get a couple of blu ray movies for 50p each - bargains to be had!
ETA - DH also bought me a hardback book for 30p called ‘The Highland Vet - A Year in Thurso’. I’ve not watched the show before, but we just happened to be going to the area for a holiday, so it was a well-timed find!Every act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️
