I popped into Shared Space again but I didn't find anything I wanted. I didn't even want a beautiful Boris mug!

And not a charity shop but had to pop out to the chemist and there was a sign by the perfume counter for 50% off. They had an Issy Miyake I had never tried so they gave me a squirt. And I liked it. And it turned out it was 50% off the lowest price....so one that was RRP of £36 was mine for £11 as it had already been discounted once. No idea if it was just this chemist or all of them in the chain - Avicenna - so you might want to check it out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. A trawl around several charity shops today yielded some nice bits and bobs to put in the toy boxes we keep at home for the grandchildren to play with when they visit - more Hot Wheels cars for grandson, some dolls clothes and dressing up stuff for three year old granddaughter, and some smashing little wooden toys for the baby who is now seven months.
Then the best bargain of all - Mister CJ and I had been discussing the purchase of a Thule roof box for our Freelander in advance of the next family holiday, but they’re hundreds of pounds. Walked into a local cancer hospice charity warehouse just as they were unloading a van full of donations, and the first item being carried out was the exact make and model roof box we’d been considering. It’s in perfect condition with all the necessary parts and keys, and became mine for £50. Getting it home was fun, but I managed it (if any of you were driving around quiet Oxfordshire back roads this afternoon, and saw a woman with a huge roof box wedged upright in the back of a convertible sports car - that was me 😂😂😂)13 -
Miró said:Does anyone know anything about Moorcroft pottery? All I know is from when it is featured on the Antiques Roadshow!! In the Brain Tumour shop yesterday they had two small Moorcroft vases, one about 12cm tall and squat and the other about 15cm and more elongated. I think they were a matching pair colourwise, navy background with big bright pink flowers and very pretty. The smaller one was priced at £60 and the taller at £80. Couldn't have a proper surreptitious squiz at them as they were in a locked cabinet but just wondered if they were a sensible price? From a brief interweb search those appear to be the going prices so not great bargains, (if genuine!!). Didn't take that much notice of them at the time but I now have a 'brain-worm' and can't stop thinking about them
@Pollycat Love the scarf!!

I bought a black and white midi spotted dress and black sheer blouse, both Papaya which is Matalan. I bought two pairs of men's shorts and a man's black belt. I also got a unicorn teddy for my dog to chew up. That all came to £15.
I did see some bowls by the register, but they were too small for cereal. They were quite nice, blue and yellow and the lady said they would be good for olives. Hmm. I might buy them next time if they are still there. 4 for £2.Brie said:Wednesday2000 said:I did see some bowls by the register, but they were too small for cereal. We sometimes have olives and antipasti bits and I like to set the table nicely. Bit of a pain washing up afterwards though.
I can use them and imagine what it must be like for regular size people to use cereal bowls.
