@SootySweep1 I live in Shropshire and my advice would be to get out of Telford as quickly as possible!
Best local towns in terms of charity shops -
LudlowKidderminster
Church Stretton
Much WenlockOne shop, but often really good - Cleobury Mortimer
If you're driving around for other things
Worcester (about 7 all in one street with 3 more across the river in St Johns)
HerefordBromyard

Superdry t shirt for son 2
White Stuff top for me
Also thought I'd buy a few CDs for the car so found: Fat Boy Slim, James, Pulp, Eva Cassidy and a couple of others that I have forgotten now. I'm obviously going back to the 90s today!6 -
Shrewsbury is an easy trip from
Telford by train, Bridgenorth, Ironbridge maybe Newport.I used to visit Telford regularly for work.✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Got a really nice glass uplighter shade for a ceiling light today in the 99p shop in Otley. It's in a very delicate pale pearly pink and looks as if it's never been installed. Priced outrageously at 50p cos all bric a brac was half the normal £1 price. Will probably be passing it on to a friend as I seem to have spotlights everywhere now so don't have the dangly wire thigumidoo that the shade requires.5

Got a fabulous peddle go-cart for £5 in a charity shop in Chorley. Grandson so pleased.8

I popped into the Oxfam shop on the way home from the museum this afternoon and snapped up this mini cake tray and a bottle brush with a glad heart. I've been eyeing this size of baking tray on the web for ages but not taking the plunge as I'd use it very rarely so to get such a good quality one second hand is perfect and judging by the sleeve being firmly stuck on it's never been used. I'm also ecstatic about the bottle brush as mine is a silicon one with a rather thick central spindle and doesn't fit into some smaller bottle necks.6

Potternerd said:@Pollycat thought of you today when I spotted some size 3 black patent DM Chelsea boot. I knew they were kids (they had a zip at the side) and I was hoping they would fit but sadly too tight.
All I managed to find was a BNWT Boots wrist support for £2. Jolly useful for my arthritic old bones but not my most exciting find!
DM kids size 3 are perfect for me.
I'm (sort of) looking forward to getting my DM boots out for the autumn & winter.

That bottle brush looks as though it would be good for water bottles.
I bought a cream linen shirt in Cancer Research, Northallerton, yesterday: £5. It was a size larger than it said on the hanger but I wanted it for under a jumper or worn baggy over trousers so that doesn't matter too much. Something to beware of though.
This morning we had a quick look round a depleted car boot sale (new king and rain took their toll, I think. Sorry about the pun). Someone was selling off a table full of dolls' house things, mostly good quality, so I snapped up five items at £2 each, including the milk bottles in a crate that I'd wanted for a while and a Tiffany-style lamp that looks lovely in the dolls' house window. One of the items will be a gift and has already gone in the gifts box. I also got a small piece of Tupperware-equivalent for 20p.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

So much to read, so little time.4 -
I have got so much baking kit that I have never used (time) and am now unlikely to ever use because of the cost of switching the oven on. Times are getting quite desperate now4
