A 2016 DFS sofa, not a mark on itIm over the moon with it. We added the dining room a couple of years ago and its had a really cheap saved from a skip 2 seater black faux leather sofa sat there, unappealing, unattractive and unbloodycomfortable
Just adding that ( needs some cushions ) has added warmth to an empty room and has pushed me into finishing the room off ( now looking a Welsh dresser )

I bought 2 pair of leggings yesterday:
M&S leopard print. thick quality rather than the thin ones
TUI dog tooth check
(thinking about DM boots)
And a Mountain Warehouse half zip turquoise fleece (thinking about winter in the house)
All £2.00 each from Air Ambulance

And not a purchase by me but my lovely friend knew I'd been looking for a pepper put for hot paprika (we use it a lot and prefer a sprinkle on some dishes e.g. cauliflower cheese, scrambled eggs).
She presented me with a Denby cruet set, salt/pepper/mustard pot with lid and crescent tray (which has a small chip).
The salt has no mark, the mustard pot & tray are marked the same, the pepper has a mark not in the Denby book.
The bottom seal is different on pepper and salt.a
DFV?
The Bourne stamp dates back to 1945 - 1950.
I think the colour may be Cottage Blue.
There's a set on eBay for £15.00 that says 1960 but without the Bourne stamp. 🤔
And the seals are the same, not different like mine.
She said she paid £1.00 for it from Salvation Army and thought it might be Denby but couldn't read the stamps as it was all sellotaped together and the stamp on the tray is hard to read.
ETA:
I've solved the mystery.
On closer inspection the salt pot (with the bigger stopper) is not Cottage Blue, it's Harlequin from 1992. A pretty good match though.8 -

with the first two books in the Rivers of London series and another novel and 2 Bake Off baking books for my sister. In total I spent £5.50!
depending on your tastes popcorn hot out of the maker can be topped with melted butter and then add herbs or parmesan or garlic salt. Obviously you could do sweet toppings as well - I'm more a toffee person rather than a just sugar one. I've had it coated in chocolate too but that to me is a topping too far!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I'd been considering getting a spare winter coat and happened to be having an afternoon nosy in a few local charity shops yesterday and found a lightweight winter coat in my size.
Looks brand new and barely worn, plus for £12.50, so couldn't resist.
It had only been put out the previous day too, so a really lucky find.
It's made me hopeful to find more things I need, especially getting ready for winter, so intend to try and pop into the charity shops a little more often.Decluttering campaign 2023

@Pollycat - that is a lovely set. I'm particularly charmed by the mustard pot and its top. Until you pointed it out I hadn't noticed the difference in the glazes between the salt and the other pieces, I think your friend has done you proud.
I had a rootle in my favourite BHF shop yesterday and was beguiled by the daffodils on this lovely little Staffordshire bowl. I kept telling myself that buying a bowl where I like the decorations on the inside is silly but I couldn't put it back on the shelf so home it came.
It only cost £2.50 which I thought was cheap for such good transfer prints, they really look like daffodils to me. I wonder who the artist was. I also bought a pair of dark grey tracksuit style trousers in a very thick and warm fabric to wear at home on cold days this winter for £3.99.

I went in search of a warmer top to wear tomorrow as I'm on holiday and brought mostly summer things. It may well be warm by evening but the weather is generally cooling a bit and I didn't bring a long-sleeved top for something we are invited to tomorrow. The RSPCA shop in Bridport came up with a £1 bargain of a Per Una wool/angora jumper that I can wear over the planned outfit! It has a tiny hole in the shoulder but that will be no trouble to fix.
I found other bargains here too: apart from the area having amazing antique shops (both the expensive and the inexpensive kind), there are superb second-hand bookshops. I think we've spent about £23 in these.
Other charity shops in Bridport yielded the following: new F&F bra £2 (Scope), Per Una needlecord shirt £6.50 and Esprit dress £8.50 (Weldmar Hospicecare). Piece of dolls' house furniture £1 (also Weldmar Hospicecare).
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Yes, my friend always does me proud.
Powdered mustard was a big thing back in the day.
After a big Sunday lunch we used to have ham sandwiches (home-made bread and proper ham) for tea and Dad always made a pot of Coleman's mustard from powder.
In fact, I have a tin in my cupboard and add it to casseroles and stews.
I also have 2 other Denby mustard pot bases (I didn't realise what they were until I saw one with a lid), useful for putting bits and bobs in.
The daffodil dish is lovely, very cheery and a lovely shape.
I don't think you can help smiling at daffodils.
I bought a Lands End boiled wool coat yesterday from the local hospice for £6.00.
It's brown, unlined and just over knee length. No pockets so looks sleek (well, as sleek as a coat can look on me).
No collar so I'll wear it with a bright scarf (Hi Brie).
I thought it would be a fairly dressy Autumn/Spring coat.
And it's crying out for a lovely brooch.
I've always been a brooch lady, I have one on every coat.
The Queen (RIP, Ma'am) loved her brooches too.

I went into London yesterday and I popped into the PDSA shop in Barking. They had completely redone it since the last time I had been in there. It looked like a proper clothes shop and I could have spent a good half hour in there.
I couldn't buy much as I was going out for lunch afterwards so I didn't want to carry a lot around with me. I bought a black River Island top and a dark pink heart necklace. I also saw a navy blue jumper (but like a tracksuit top material) with a cat pic on it that looks quite warm so I might wear that in bed or around the house as I think I am slightly too old to wear a cat jumper outside at my age.2025 GOALS
