Yay!! Finally made it and what a lovely time was had. Beautiful day and it was much bigger than I imagined. Came back with an M & S stone coloured padded jacket, brand new and the seller reduced it from £15 to £10 for me. Also got a big crystal vase, just perfect for the Aldi lilies! Then did the rounds of the Thirsk chazza shops but didn’t buy anything. Then onto the Thirsk car booty and came away with armfuls of china and crystal thanks to the 2 for £1 sellers. Also got a set of 3 crystal candle holders, small medium and large in an art deco stylee from another seller, bit pricy at £10 but I loved them and have just the spot to place them. Was supposed to be going to the Sculpture Garden at Thirsk Hall afterwards but was worn out by then so put it off in favour of a glass of vino collapso in a local hostelry. Many thanks for inspiring me to actually make the effort to get there……will do it again!
I'm so glad it was a success! I was away so I missed it. I believe there's a good one at Ripon too, but I've never actually been to that one.

@goldfinches we used to have that cookery book growing up and I loved it! Have you seen the boats made from jelly in orange peel slices yet?
Yes I have and here's the proof.
They're really pretty aren't they.
Scallops. A host of legends surround this, one of the loveliest of seafoods, except when overcooked. My favourite true story concerns the young lady scallop preparation worker, interviewed by the 'New Yorker' Magazine. When asked for her honest opinion of the shellfish she said "They don't have much personality". From Patrick Anthony's International MENU Dictionary.
It has turned chillier here and I have been experimenting with what makes me feel warmest. I do intend to invest in some more thin thermal tops from Amazon, but I do want to look for some scarves in charity shops. I realised I only have two scarves when I dug out my winter clothes! It is typical as I was eyeing some pretty scarves in the PDSA the other day, but I wasn't in a position to carry them home. This has to be remedied in the next few weeks.

We hardly made anything from that book, we just liked looking at the pictures! I remember the pinwheel sandwiches and choux pastry swans as well.
It's unlined and I'm pretty sure there isn't any interfacing.
I'll dry flat, I have 2 big indoor airers.
I'll risk the machine wash.

It feels lovely against the skin.
