I bought a Lands End boiled wool coat yesterday from the local hospice for £6.00.
It's brown, unlined and just over knee length. No pockets so looks sleek (well, as sleek as a coat can look on me).
No collar so I'll wear it with a bright scarf (Hi Brie).
I thought it would be a fairly dressy Autumn/Spring coat.
And it's crying out for a lovely brooch.
I've always been a brooch lady, I have one on every coat.
The Queen (RIP, Ma'am) loved her brooches too.

I'll have to have troll through my selection to see what will look nice with your new coat!!  I'll wave it at you to see if it makes you jealous (at a guess the gucci one would be nice....)

I like brooches and do have a few but I find them difficult to wear.  I have often nearly pulled them off when dealing with my whatchamacallit - handbag, shoulder bag, something.  It worries me as people have bought me quite a few by artists so they are unique, and look very fragile.  The last few I got I haven't even worn.   And they get in the way of scarves.....

I went into London yesterday and I popped into the PDSA shop in Barking. They had completely redone it since the last time I had been in there. It looked like a proper clothes shop and I could have spent a good half hour in there.

I couldn't buy much as I was going out for lunch afterwards so I didn't want to carry a lot around with me. I bought a black River Island top and a dark pink heart necklace. I also saw a navy blue jumper (but like a tracksuit top material) with a cat pic on it that looks quite warm so I might wear that in bed or around the house as I think I am slightly too old to wear a cat jumper outside at my age. :D
Never say that about anything.  ;)
If I can wear Doc Marts at the wrong side of 60, you can wear whatever you like.
I was looking at it when I got home and I'm a bit paranoid it might be a pyjama top! It is from TU but it doesn't say anything on the label. I think I will be safe and wear it at home.

Had a nice chat in one of the shops as a woman wanted opinions on whether a jacket fit her properly.  Unfortunately it looked great on her and fortunately for her it wasn't my size.  Else I'd have offered more than the £10 on the tag.  particularly as it looked pretty much brand new.

Instead I bought myself a book on painting flowers in watercolours.  £1. Not that I need another book on how to paint.  What I need is a kick to get me over to my paint table!!

(fyi - no scarves today sadly.....)
