I mentioned this a week or two ago...

Had just about the most successful charity shopping trip last week. Starting a new job in a couple of weeks and found a lovely Whistles dress for £8.99. I then found a white stuff tunic the same as one I bought a few years ago and have worn so much it has holes - £7.99 and looks unworn! Woohoo!
Finally, almost as improbably, found a couple of reels of 'draughtex', stuff you put between gaps in floorboards. We recently took up carpets and sanded ours and haven't got around to filling the gaps. What are the chances of that?!

I did see a handbag that I picked up in there, but it was made from crocodile skin! Eek.I've driven past it but never stopped. Will make the effort if you recommend it.
The second hand shop I bought my furniture from was Les & Gary's, also on London Road on the same side of the road. They are a family business and have been there since 1976. I have bought quite a few items from them for my new house.:)
(Not to be confused with Des & Barry's furniture shop that is almost opposite on London Road. One of the owners told me the guy moved there and opened a used furniture shop too and ripped off their name!)No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Bargains still exist. This key ring caught my eye in a lesser-known chaz this afternoon:At 50p I am v happy! No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Ooh that's pretty, @Rosa_Damascena!
I went on a trawl of Thirsk charity shops this afternoon and came away with quite a few bargains, though my weakness for vintage books meant I spent £19 on two old children's books, so it wasn't cheap. Also £1 on a 1954 magazine minus its cover but with some good knitting patterns of classic 1950s styles.
Those were all from the Salvation Army.
I also bought M&Co Petit summer trousers for £4.50 in BHF. Very happy with these as a match for the tee shirt I happened to be wearing.
Lastly I found a soap tin with sewing machine feet in for £2.50 in Herriot Hospice Homecare. I can't be sure they'll fit my machine but if not I can check with friends who sew whether any of them can use them. Also two bobbins.
ETA: At last one of the sewing machine feet is the right make and I've identified the functions of two of them from my sister's suggestions and sewing machine websites. It looks as those two alone are would be £23 to buy new, and these are as-new.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Slim pickings yesterday as I visited 2 towns and our nearest city.
Only thing I bought was these Dr Marten pink Mary Jane style shoes.
Brand new. £15 from Mencap.
I did bag a great bargain from TKMaxx though.
A pair of ecco shoes/trainers in dusky pink nubuck.
RRP £140, reduced to £12.00.
I love ecco footwear as much as I love DMs.

They are really good shoes for the price, @Pollycat . Make sure you treat the uppers before you wear them, as every little scuff will show.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I do tend to treat all suede and nubuck shoes with stain and water repellent.6
