@goldfinches, that's a good haul! I suspect cake stand domes get broken more often than bases so you did well to find one.

I have one of those Christmas Tree biscuit kits: DS1 made it using gingerbread and it was very effective.

@CAFCGirl, that's a super transformation! I can't find the original lettering at all.

do you think the metal pan is crucial for the ice cream?  Lazy me thinks a plastic pot with a lid would work although it may take a couple of extra minutes to get the cold through.

I went to see two films this week at my new local cinema but the seats are very uncomfortable compared to the cinema seats I usually sit in at the 02 in London!
Slumming it Southend? You should be grateful, I went to Cineworld in BasVegas last week and caught something really nasty, have been suffering since. The only consolation was reading the 3 chazzer books (bought for £1 the other week) in the sunshine whilst coughing and spluttering. It's rare I get to read uninterrupted for pleasure but it took my mind off my ill health for a few hours.
Oh sorry, I only just saw this. Yes, Southend, the seats at the cinema are hard and so are the armrests there. I was wondering if Basildon would be any better!

Not at all. What I do find crucial is having a dish large enough to give you a very shallow depth of mixture when you want to freeze it so that it chills very quickly. I just like a metal dish that I can pop into the freezer while I'm mixing the ingredients together and then I can pour the mixture into a cold dish and get a bit of a head start on the chilling, that's all.

Lazy me finds it easier to buy it from the freezer aisle and eat it from a stick
