@goldfinches I have a piece of marble I was given 20+ years ago which was an offcut from a monumental stonemason...might be worth a chat if you have one locally?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@Floss - thanks for the suggestion. I'll have a think about it and see if there are any places that I might drop into easily.1

@goldfinches - I too have a huge marble slab that you could have if you can collect from Southend. In exchange for your no churn ice-cream recipe perhaps, on the condition that it guarantees a crystal-free result. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

My hair guy was really pleased with the book I had going spare. We got talking about books (he was having a slow afternoon so ended up colouring my hair as well as cutting all for the same price) and he asked if we needed any cook books. Well I knew immediately the answer was no but he said as an ex chef he didn't need the ones he had as he knew how to cook and tended to wing it depending on what precisely he had available. Knowing that I still had a load of stuff to drop off somewhere I offered to help him out by taking any he wanted rid of and if we didn't want them they'd go to the charity shops.
So now in addition to all the stuff from the office (and things still being sorted from when we moved over 4 years back.....) I have a stack of cook books in the car - one on pasta, another on preserves and cordials, a number of Jamie Oliver and some other odds like calorie counting and vegetarian.
I've got to keep the momentum up and get our place tidied. As MiL won't be returning home to us I'll start going through some of her stuff at some point. There's 2 sets of china - neither of which we will ever use. One is from early in her marriage - Desert Star pattern and another was likely a catalogue buy about 15 - 20 years back and pretty much complete but of no particular value. I'll probably offer that on NextDoor or somewhere first with a deadline and then drop it to a charity if there are no takers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. A trip with the boys today.
2 books from the library sale (not technically charity shop as such) for DS. Dropped £2 in the tin.
1 jigsaw from Cancer Research, £4.50 only to then go in the second Cancer Research at the other end, and found the exact same puzzle for £2.95 so was a bit peeved there.
3 books £1 each, and the jigsaw I debated the other day for £4.95 from Sue RyderWealth is not measured by currency5 -
Have been v busy so not many CS opportunities for me recently. (The Aussies actually call them op shops short for opportunity, rather than CS). Hopefully things will quieten down soon and I can fill my boots.
However I did manage to pick up a black and white Nike hoodie for DGS today for £2.50.6 -

Thankyou for the offer, if I'm ever anywhere near Southend I'll take you up on it.
