My recently finished cheerful socks with accompanying cheerful gloves. (Not quite finished orft the second glove) Still ploughing my way through the yarn kindly given by a Freecycler. So far have made 2 jumpers, 1 cardi, 3 scarves, 1 socks and 1 gloves and only used about half.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I had a browse around my favourite BHF shop after dropping into the library today and found this lovely Jonelle 3.97 casserole with a vented lid for £7. A quick google tells me that these were John Lewis own brand a while ago and were very spendy.
I thought I'd put this second photo on to show everyone how nice and thick the base is.
I couldn't believe my luck when I picked it up from the shelf, I find this size really useful too; hooray and time to break out the barkeeper's friend and the elbow grease."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Been trawling round the charity shops as I’m away next week and am bostin out of last years summer clothes - a combination of lockdowns and middle aged spread.Managed to get a load of shorts, tops and skirts for £2 each. Plus a monsoon skirt for £2 and a pair of warehouse trousers for a fiver. More than I’d normally pay but I did really like the pattern. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.9 -

@goldfinches my ex has the ex-marital set of those pans, bought with a wedding cheque from his parents. They are virtually indestructible 😁2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

It's been joined today by two good-hearted Rayware Hug Mugs for £3 from the car boot sale, and a light-hearted plastic cotton reel holder from the same place (£1.50).
Oh, the ripples of ones words! They resonate long after sound and imagination have given up and gone for a snooze.

I'm very impressed at the speed of your knitting, surely you only got The Freecycle yarn a few weeks ago?! Please may we have pictures of the other knitting too (apologies if I missed them)?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Youngest, who is a chap with very specific aesthetics for socks, is Much Impressed & eyeing me thoughtfully as if to estimate just how many souls (his Etsy currency) is this going to take to ask me to knit. So far I am smiling enigmatically to conceal the fact I can't knit socks (yet). Period authentic Monmouth caps (think beanie with a doublelayer nand around the ear) in assorted as-worn-by-the-original-sheep tones & assorted scarves (I can manage fan & feather will a following wind & a Lot of tea) yews, real almost matching socks - well, I haven't yet tried.
Not least as once I start, the chaps will be driving me to exotic wool shops and paying for rare and lovely fibres (I need to be inspired) and I will then put all our hopes into the washing machine & we will lend up with the worlds best toe covers for elves....13 -
@DigForVictory - suggest you teach him to knit his own socks with help from YT videos and then he can knit you some as well. He could do some searching for the needles and some wool he fancied in chazzas too.
On a more serious note I hope you and the lads are coping with your horrendous loss and treating yourselves kindly, love and hugs to all of you from me, goldfinches. xoxo"She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
