Forgive me (ferocious strong antibiotics I'm on) but I read this & laughed til I had to stop & just breathe for a few minutes,. An anxious son, chiding me, peered at the screen & sat beside me and asked was I laughing as I wanted a brain tumour? So I had to haul my wits & my lungs onto one working package & explain that no I just love the name. "Ah.." My understandably anxious lad was calmed. "How is sock wool cheerful?" I made a gesture that vaguely resembled Kermit having a seizure & suggested it had just had a shower. (This helping those of us with this cough & associated rotten sleep to face Anything.) Son patted my hand, made me a brew & left me to it. An interrogative noise from suffering sibling was reassured with "she's reading again"...Miró said:Today in the brain tumour shop I got two boxes of 5 prs of knee highs..50p per box8 -

Oh dear, I do apologise!! I must make an effort to remember it's proper name, (Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity). For some reason the real name just will not stick in my senior blonde brain!

Miro, don't apologise - I love a laugh, just the cough followed it was the act of an unkindly fate.
Anyway I got a message from someone asking where was it so they had a destination for charitable giving in the the last 2 years so I think "the brain tumour shop" helps.
I've got a bad feeling i am going to have to explain "cheerful sock wool" at some inconvenient & unlikely moment - all suggestions warmly welcomed!

This might be Monday's excursion whilst the hubby is still off work (leave not anything else).Cherryfudge said:
I noticed a couple are a bit on the expensive side but I'm afraid I don't remember which is which. It's worth a leisurely mooch around the market place thoughI haven;t made it to Thirsk's charity shops yet. Should I? Any to 'avoid'?
I appreciate you and Miro telling me about the furniture as we're actually on the hunt for a bookcase or some sort of storage piece for DS's room...Wealth is not measured by currency4 -
@DigForVictory & @Floss
My recently finished cheerful socks with accompanying cheerful gloves. (Not quite finished orft the second glove) Still ploughing my way through the yarn kindly given by a Freecycler. So far have made 2 jumpers, 1 cardi, 3 scarves, 1 socks and 1 gloves and only used about half.
