I popped into my favourite BHF shop on my way to the supermarket today and snapped up this lovely fully lined 100% cotton SeaSalt dress in a size 14 which will be comfortably loose in the hot weather, it's even got pockets (hoorah) £20. I also snapped up a paperback copy of Elizabeth David's French Provincial Cooking £2.50, a hardback copy of Margaret Forster's Isa and May £2.50 and a framed cartoon £2.49 about domestic differences.

But that in part is due to us having (I believe) everything Elizabeth David wrote plus all of her recipes as rewritten by Keith Floyd.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Yesterday's perambulation around Northallerton produced a b/n Radley bag, black leather medium sized cross body. £25 in the BHF shop. Perfect size and hands free....yay!! Funnily enough, the Cancer Research shop also had a similar one, well used and heavily scuffed on the corners and priced at £45! Did buy a large candle tho in the CR shop by Crackle Wick which has a wick that crackles (wotever that is!), £1.50 and smells lovely.6

goldfinches - what a smashing frock & well done you (a) finding it & (b) fitting it!
Miró - hurrah Radley bag - did you find it or did it find you?
Today I am hunting pie dishes (need not be Denby!) as Youngest is eager to learn about the wonders of batch cooking! (You do have to rotate pies in the oven to different heights so they all cook evenly, yes?)5 -
@DigForVictory, if I can get them to nestle on the same shelf I don’t rotate otherwise rotate to your hearts content. Lack of rotation is one of my bug bears when my DBro cooks. That and he moves the shelves which makes me twitchy and incinerates anything on the top shelf if not careful.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
