DH came home with a book on knitting for me, from Yorkshire Cancer Research. The sticker says £1.50, but of course it could be a lot more if I end up buying yarn to make some of the patterns.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Meanwhile, I have managed to stay out of the shops so can record four NSDs with respect to chazza browsing, however my Kindle account has taken rather a beating so I'm not quite as frugal as I'd like to be yet!
The family photo album was like a weird time capsule. Wedding pictures of Army officers in jackboots (how those survived the War, I have no idea) and his time in the Legion. It was like an old National Geographic at times, pictures of Tunis in the 50s, some from the Congo with villagers and the jungles of what is now VietNam.
The military was and is the family business, my husband served for 40 years and both of our sons are in the Forces. The oldest has a very German name much to the amusement of his troops.12 -

It's just an odd type of bird.
I do know what you mean about a 100% wool scarf in this weather.
But winter IS coming. 😱
I had a great friend (of almost 40 years) who loved scarves and golf and would have loved it.but we lost him 9 months ago so I will
wear it in his honour.7 -
@Pollycat

Thanks, Brie.
Indeed it is a blue coot.
But not as pretty as a humming bird or
peacock or bird of paradise.
Still, beggars can't be choosers. 😃4 -

I'd recommend pure wool now (and it has to be 100%, not a mixture) because while we Brits have traditionally associated it with keeping warm, it also seems to help regulate the body's temperature in hot weather. One lady is wearing it as the best thing for a Texan dessert summer!
That said, I've not been replacing pyjamas with sweaters... yet.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
