One promotional Dolmio lasagne dish & a Pyrex dish which is much bigger - young 'un will have to figure how much goes into which! My hopes of a shepherds pie for lunch may be delayed a bit, but so long as he remembers the joys of oven gloves there shouldn't be any unexpected delays.
The lasagne dish may even trigger a fraternal battle for who cooks the best lasagne... Me? Deliberately incite competitive cooking between my sons? If it means they learn to cook, Absolutely Yes!14 -

Not charity shops but I'm off to collect a desk and chair found on Gumtree. I need something for what is now "my" room and wanted a place to do my art work. Some has a white company desk for £40 which looks like this
Chester White Scandi Work from Home Office Computer Desk | Contemporary Scandi Style Painted | Roseland Furniture
and comes with a matching chair in white - something like this
Charlestown Oak Solid Wood Dining Chair | Roseland Furniture
I don't really need the chair but if it's in the way I'll pass it along.
To balance things off I was only on Gumtree to list a couple of MiL's mobility aids now that she's not able to use them. Someone is coming on Friday to get one of them and (hopefully) pay me £25 for the priviledge.
No reply to things on Freegle which is a disappointment.
Need to keep sorting and listing or popping things along to charity shops. I've basically got 3 rooms of stuff to get rid of. As I'm supposedly starting a new job next month I'm hoping it will focus my brain and I can do a blitz on things - assuming I don't melt first!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Picked up a few useful items in the St Gemma's Hospice 99p shop today. A pair of black TU trousers in just the cut I like and appear b/n with pockets still stitched and plastic bag attached with spare button. A black long sleeved T-shirt from M & S, got it to wear under sweaters in winter but it's such a nice heavy jersey fabric I may wear it as is. A similar very pale shell pink T-shirt from H & M. Finally a cream. thick, cable knit sweater 70% cotton from Primark(!) Now I never, never, never buy anything either from that shop* or by that make* in a chazza but *gulp* it was brand new and looked sooo clean and fresh I couldn't resist it. Total spend for all items £3.96.
* Boo Hoo and Nasty Gal are also on my banned list11 -
A silver double wishbone ring 99p. It was so badly tarnished you could scarcely tell it was silver. However I have a lot of silver jewellery and so have silver polish. It’s starting to come up silver so I’m just going to wear it which according to my late mum is the best way to stop tarnish on silver.
A blue IKEA glass (for G and T) 50p
And a Jack Wills bright blue and white striped sweatshirt £5. It’s very nautical- a look I love.9 -
Fruitful trip yesterday
Stunning sage green corduroy oversized shirt (Stradavarius brand?) from Yorkshire Cancer Charity, £4
One happy sunshine yellow vase and purple round plant pot £1 from the above
1 Paperback from Blue Cross £1
3 Paperbacks and 1 hardback from Sue Ryder £1 each.
Was very happy with my haul and spent some time chatting to the volunteer in YCC, after thinking many do it for contact with others so why not stop for a chit chat. Very lovely guy, seems a bit nervous with the tech so did our best to let him to know to take his time and we were in no rush.
The vase I plan on upcycling a tad but I'm struggling to pick what sort of design to go for...
This is what I did with a previous vase purchase....Wealth is not measured by currency8 -
Oooooh how weird....I had a 'vase moment' this afternoon!!!
First of all, doing the rounds locally, I called into the 'Brain Tumour Shop", (sorry DfV, I can never remember the proper name!!). They had a rail of 'vintage clothing where I found a lovely Basler skirt in a taupe colour. Midi length and with pleats back and front and lovely material, priced at £2. Fits beautifully as I think it must have been made before they changed women's sizing and decided we no longer had waists!! It was very carefully checked for possible moth damage!
Then trundling up the hill I came to the weird vintage china and linens shop that I have never ever seen open. Outside was placed a couple of trestle tables piled up with china, and big cardboard boxes full of all kinds of linens. Prominently displayed was a big sign saying "All free, please help yourself". (Apparently the place has been sold and the new owners just want the place emptied) I quickly scurried across the road and joined two people who were delightedly picking out goodies for themselves. I came away with loads of lovely things, a huge tablecloth with eight matching napkins, smaller tablecloths, tray cloths, lace mats, things that I haven't a clue what they are! Everything was in perfect condition. Also got a few white china dishes and then spotted....a Denby porcelain vase in the Rhapsody pattern. Didn't know Denby did porcelain??? Spent a lovely half hour looking at all the things and chatting with a very nice couple. What a lovely thing for the new owners to do!

@Miro a thing of beauty & I hope of use?
Local weaving museum had a rummage sale & youngest snaffled several books ‘for reference images’ including a British museum masterpieces volume still in its sealing plastic! £18.99, his for 50 pence - and I hold dragging/guiding children through charity shops is both educational and affordable as well as setting an excellent precedent.Canny son of his father!9 -
Today in Bridgnorth, BNWT mens fatface shorts £5.50. They're £48 in the Fatface store opposite the chazza. DH very happy.7
